jane, i am jealous as hail that you got to see my johnboy zimmerMAN!
and why are NBC and ESPN putting the only two skating broadcasts for the week in the exact same time slot?? for those of us with only one DVR, it's exasperating! and the same conflicted schedule goes on for weeks ...

Yeah, he sure is a beaut! I always thought we had a better view watching these guys on TV than being there, but if you're up close-well, never mind how they look-it's astounding to see right up close what they do on those skates. Breathtaking!
NBC has a Kurt Browning show-I'd rather see a competition, so I'll watch ESPN.

Posted: 11/11/07 at 4:45pmSpeaking of Shaelynn, why is she skating solo? Also, am I the only one who can't find the Skate Canada broadcast? My ESPN channel is broadcasting a basketball game!
#79re: Figure Skating '07
Posted: 11/11/07 at 4:48pmAs soon as it's over, they'll air the skate. This happens a lot.

SASHA just looked BAD to me ... didn't like her hair ... didn't like her dress ...
i wonder how JOANNIE and JEFFREY liked skating in a competition and in a show at the SAME time on two different channels?

Posted: 11/18/07 at 4:21pmI thought Johnny skated an elegant program, but Evan's got that fierceness and force to his skating that can be more impressive. He reminded me a little of Plushy with his straight line routine.

johnny skated very well ... but he needs to LOSE those drippy costumes! at least he cut his hair ... and he must be thrilled to now have a genuine authentic russian coach
nothing about this year's competitions have reminded me of plushy ... and that's what i like most about this year's competitions!

Ah, I see-you're not a Plushy fan. Oh well, to me there has never been and I've yet to see anyone as good as he is!
About Johnny's costumes-they are the ugliest I've ever seen. He has a theme-they are all black and white, with some kind of white extending down one side. The bottom is always black-very slimming! The one he wore for the long program had a neckline just like an evening gown!

I just rewatched Torvill and Dean's Bolero on "that site". I have seen it dozens of times and it is still the most amazing thing I've ever seen on the ice. Jee. Zus.
#88re: Figure Skating '07
Posted: 11/19/07 at 8:49pmwe will never see the likes of T&D again ... sigh ...

"I just rewatched Torvill and Dean's Bolero... I have seen it dozens of times and it is still the most amazing thing I've ever seen on the ice."
There are a couple of moments that kind of stop me in my tracks whenever I get a chance to see them:
- Peggy Fleming and her delayed axel, has a good hesitation
- Brian Boitano's death drop spin
- Paul Wylie - don't know what it's called but he's doing a spiral and then changes edge and goes in the reverse direction, still in a spiral
- Irina Slutskaya - footwork down the ice done on one foot
- Josef S. (long blonde hair, Czech) - height of his delayed axel
- Michelle Kwan - joy of skating on her face

Posted: 11/25/07 at 4:40pmI'm watching the Yamaguchi special right now. Wow, the kids are all growing up so quickly- especially Daria (Ekaterina's daughter and Blade- Josef Sab...'s child). I remember when they were born! mom

I was never a stephane lambiel fan before until tonight. I don't care about the flow, the fall. To me, his program is the best this season. Incredibe!
