re: Figure Skating '07

I agree, but I'm glad Johnny won. It shows real commitment and giving up a lot of other things going on in his life. As he said, he's matured. It shows in his interviews, too.

re: Figure Skating '07

exactly, glebby! CHAN is quite the stylist! love him!

in spite of the fact that LAMBIEL kept falling on his cute tush last season, i LOVED his flamenco program. i don't usually like it when a skater does the same program for second season in a row, but this one is so good i don't mind. it's a fabulous/sexy look for him. the footwork sequence is pure dance.

i love BUTTLE so much, but i'm disappointed in this season's choreography/music :/

NHK TROPHY

1st - DiceK - you go, boy! (even if he did look like edward scissorhands in the short)

2nd - Tomas - woof woof!! (come over anytime)

3rd - youngster Carrier - fun! (although i'm amazed his program component scores were so high)

re: Figure Skating '08

Just a reminder that the National Figure Skating Championships are this weekend.

There is a link via www.usfsa.org to be able to watch the proceedings online (season pass is $29.95).

re: Figure Skating '08

Dottie- just happened to catch some of the figure skating news in USA TODAY yesterday. There was a beautiful picture of a pairs group featuring a 15 year old girl and her 21 year old partner. They are 1st after the short program. I can't wait to see them! There was also an article about how the ratings are really down on skating and how there are no household name stars like Michelle Kwan. The younger skaters aren't staying in the sport long enough to make a name for themselves (just paraphrasing the article here). Anyway, I hope I'm not too busy to watch! mom

Supportivemom, I hear you (re: Michelle Kwan). I'm still waiting for her replacement (if that makes any sense). I read that Emily Hughes had to withdraw because of an injury. It's also strange not seeing Sasha Cohen participate.

re: Figure Skating '08

Yeah Dottie- I loved watching Sasha and Michelle. None of the new skaters have their grace and style. It's like there's a new batch of Tara Lipinski's. I've been so busy that I haven't been able to catch a lot of this season yet. That's why I hope I get to catch some of it this weekend. mom
