I'm not so sure that's why Robin isn't Emily's Coach, but it may very well be. I wondered that myself, I guess just assuming that since they're sisters, Robin would be her coach.
Robin did have a skater at Torino though(and you probably know this!). It was Silvia Fontana. I'm not sure why she didn't go back to Galina Z., but I did hear Sandra mention that Nina Petrenko was still her choreographer.
Silvia skated a great LP(for her), but really it was great and she displayed a lot of emotion too! Then afterwards Robin turned Silvia to the crowd just like she did Sarah Hughes, and Silvia stayed for like 1 second! It was funny! Like she was saying "Don't give me your Sarah crap!"

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:58pmThis is really Random, but why did Plushenko stop doing his Bielmann Spin? For someone "playing the code" it works well. It seems that now the married Plushenko is trying to look more macho or something, so the Bielmann Spin and extravagant costumes are now gone!

I know MTVMann! Sylvia wasn't going to do Robin's tv hogging for her. I LMAO when I saw it.
To answer your question, the first program Kwan did at December Marshalls was a watered-down version of Kwan's short program, which was set to the same music that Irina's SP was this year.
We know her LP was to Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C Minor, but we may not ever see it unless Kwan does do the April Marshalls and skates to it there.
I was wondering about Plushenko toning down too. But his groin injury probably made the Biellman unbearable.

Posted: 3/2/06 at 6:26pmTrue, but since I've already paid for it, I need to get what's coming!

Also, I think there is now some gossip that Plushenko has retired! It's really too bad if it's true! I know that many people don't like his programs, but you can't deny the fact that he is capable of doing a well-balanced program.

Well he did say that and I thought the exact same thing, but now the word is different. Although I can't confirm how true it is, but apparently there are some articles about it.
If it's true it will be sad.

During the Olympics a couple of the commentators intimated that they thought the judges would be taking another look at how they were scoring, after Plushenko skated. So they (judges) must be aware of all the criticism. I wonder if that has anything to do with Plushenko's decision, feeling he may be judged more harshly at the worlds. LOL, pure speculation.
By the way, I'm currently watching my TIVO of the Skating with Celebrities final. I can never look at Lloyd in the same way again. :-/

Posted: 3/4/06 at 8:09amthere definitely needs to be some fine tuning of the COP, but i doubt anything will be done before worlds. i really hope PLUSHY does not skate at worlds. it will make for a much more exciting competition with attention focused on the other skaters.

Posted: 3/4/06 at 7:25pmThe idea of Stephane Lambiel being a two time World Champion is making me all excited! Thank you Plushenko for retiring and letting real skating programs win medals.
#794Figure Skating Chat
Posted: 3/4/06 at 7:31pmYou also have to think that Evan Lysacek is a contender for a repeat medal as well.

Posted: 3/4/06 at 7:33pmit will be interesting to see which programs the skaters use, since many went back to OLDER programs for the olympics.

Posted: 3/4/06 at 7:33pmOh for sure Dottie. I think there are like 7 men who could win medals here. I mean some have bigger chances than others but there are a lot of contenders here to make Worlds a REAL competition rather than an inauguration.

I'm putting some money on Joannie Rochette for a medal! Perhaps the bronze! Had she had a better SP, I think she would have been higher at the Olympics.
She also has this on her side: Fumie Suguri finished 5th at the 2002 Olympics and went on to win the bronze medal at the WC's in her home country.
Joannie finished 5th at these Olympics and they are held in Canada!
I also expect a medal out of Jeffry Buttle and the Canadian Ice Dance team that had to withdraw from the Olympics, should they be able to compete.
