UGH. Barf. I'm sick to my stomach. How did that Italian horse place so high in the LP? I think the COP is a better judging system than 6.0, but they really need to fine tune it before Vancouver and tell the judges to judge the PCS marks correctly and not use it as the old presentation mark placeholders.
Carolina Kostner's performance was simply disgusting and she hardly had any choreography or transitions between the elements, so I am wondering how she got such high PCS marks and tech marks considering how bad her program. She codewhored for sure, and she did technically land the jumps but they were incredibly sloppy and rushed and the whole program was just hideous.
I don't get how Mao Asada scored so close to her in the LP, and I don't know why Yukari Nakano got hosed in the tech mark considering she did a triple axel and 7 triples and better spins than Carolina is even capable of. If only Yu Na Kim didn't pop that one jump and landed the other one completely, she could've placed ahead of that horse. I'm disgusted. What a way to end what I felt was an incredibly great competition for me. I mean there's still the Mens comp that I am totally excited for, but no matter happens, I think the ladies event will taint the whole competition for me.
DISGUSTING.
Jane2, I have no idea. They ended the program saying the men's free skate was tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 on ESPN.
Dottie-ok, well I'm about to find out!
LOL, dottie-I found out! The Ten Commandments is on ABC. There's skating on ESPN2!
Dottie,
Yukari Nakano's technical marks reflected her under rotated jumps. She did have the 2nd highest program component scores of the night though (for the long program).

I think the COP needs to start taking major points off for sloppy landings, two-footed landings, and putting your hand down because they are just as bad if not worse (the latter two are) than underrotation.
Carolina should not have been anywhere near the Mao, Yu Na, and Yukari. Her program was incredibly empty and easy and there is no way a lot of her elements were high levels.
I'm all set for the men's long program today and of course I'm pulling for Johnny (I wish he'd get rid of those hideous costumes already.)
I missed Buttle's short program- it must have been something though, as he inched out Weir for first place.
No kidding VIETgrlTerifa.
I'm so confused; how could Stefan Lambiel have all those falls yet didn't receive any deductions? This point system is ridiculous.

It doesn't count unless your butt hits the ice. It's really ridiculous sometimes.
Thank God Jeffrey Buttle pulled it together. I've been a fan of his for so long and I can't believe he finally pulled it together. This had to be the greatest performance of his career. He saved Mens skating from having to endure another year of Brian Joubert as World Champion.
I hate that Joubert is being a sore loser making statements like he's disgusted that he placed behind a skater who didn't have a quad. I'm disgusted that he almost won the World Championship again with that empty program, no real choreography, simple footwork, and no attention to music. I guess Jeffrey didn't have that ultra cool double axel-single toe loop combination that Brian Joubert had.
If Daisuke Takahashi and Johnny Weir and Stephan Lambiel skated better, they would have placed above Joubert too.
Thanks, VIETgrlTerifa. It really doesn't make sense.
I'm glad I didn't hear Joubert's comments because I thought his program was exciting.
Patrick Chan from Canada looks like he'll be a true contender in a couple of years. I liked his outfit, too.
I wish Daisuke had skated better because he's exciting as well.
It is so sad that Takahashi, Lambiel and Vernon, my favorite top three this season did not perform their best this night.
Well, as long as Jonny Weir did not win champion with his old trick that belongs to two years before, I can settle with this game.
I thoroughly enjoyed both Buttle and Joubert tonight. Johnny's performance seemed so tired and old compared with the excitement and strength of the other two.
thank you, JEFF! you MADE the event this year! it was otherwise quite forgettable. LOVE YOU!!
and i must say BRIAN's skating HAS improved ... he's not so much just a jumper now.

Finally, they mentioned the passing of Christopher Bowman in this broadcast! I couldn't believe they never mentioned his passing at the Nationals, considering he had won 2 titles. I wish they had shown a clip of him really skating. I know I posted this link before, but for anyone who never saw him skate, this performance is poetry on ice.

Anyone watching Worlds?
Wow, Miki Ando did her best and had to withdraw. Heartbreaking.
That airing on tv was a repeat from last weekend.
