About Johnny's music, I really like his piano concerto music. As to this piece of music not grabbing the audience. Well, when Irina Slutskaya skates to this music(different cut, but the exact same ending)she has the audience in her hands. Maybe, she deserves more credit than what people give her.

Could that Rohene dude possibly be any gayer???

Is it just me, or are the men's costumes getting WAY over the top? Except for the guy in the plain black pants and shirt, it was like an evening at La Cage.

of course the rohene tears were genuine, but abc is simply exploiting what should otherwise be a private moment. and state farm is saying "oh aren't we great ... look what we did." please :-/

Isn't Peggy Flemming beautiful? :) I love looking at her hair in pictures at the Olympics in 1968 :) I'm surprised it didn't hurt her jumping abilities!

They really should be showing excerpts from the pairs final. I wonder how those skaters feel not getting any coverage.

Well, I'm kinda sentimental and sappy so I actually like all their fluff pieces.

Ohh, It's about to start. Ofcourse we have the ealier groups to go first.

Here are my thought about this event.
1. Michelle Kwan will be on the Olympic Team.
2. Sasha Cohen will win the Ladies Event......I just hope she skates like it :)
3. If Kimmie, Emily, Bebe and Alyssa all hit, IMO, it's Alyssa who is the most complete skater and would be in 2nd place after the competition.

That said, it's really up in the air, and I want them all to do well and wish they could all go, or at least that there was another spot so that the top 3 could go. Anyways, I feel kinda personally invested in Emily Hughes, so I'm pulling for her.


BTW, Is anyone else getting the commericial for Broadway on Ice with Dorothy Hamill and Davis Gaines? Is is that only in the DFW area?

Well the pairs did get coverage......You just had to watch ESPN 2 up until like 2 A.M.(central time).

Damn that basketball game and it's triple overtime and commericals!!!!!! They should have just switched over to skating. I mean wasn't that just a regular game? It wasn't a championship or playoff game, was it? Anyways, that really ticked me off.

At least ESPN is going to repeat the pairs and ice dancing. Yes, damn that stupid basketball game. I really should have set my VCR but I was too lazy to do so and went to bed around 12:30 last night.

My wish would be for one of the ladies (either Michele or Sasha) to skate to the music from the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet (Prokofiev version). That music is so exquisite and just begging to be interpreted on the ice.

yeah Jane, you're fine. All you missed were re-caps, fluff pieces and the next to last group of skaters, while good, we all know the drama falls in the final group, and now it's really starting to get HOT in here! Kimmie, Bebe, Emily and Sasha!

Poor Emily! I really wanted this for her. And Poor Bebe too

So, the Olympic will mostly be Kwan, Cohen and Meisinger, the top 3 last year at Nationals.
That's almost what I thought from like the Nationals last year, but Kimmie was really shakey earlier this season and other girls REALLY came on the scene.

Well, I guess we have to wait for the announcement on Michelle.

Is it me, or was all the hope, joy and excitement at the 2002 Nationals going into the Olympics seem much higher than it was at these 2006 Nationals? That's just something that I felt.

Here is a thought! Michelle Kwan is only petioning to the Olympic Games, so there is a GREAT chance Emily will be on the World Championship Team.
