Here are the first official photos of Rob Lowe and Ginnifer Goodwin as JFK and his wife Jackie in the docudrama 'Killing Kennedy'. I am looking forward to this since I am a fan of both of them.

Very exciting! I've been watching The West Wing and I almost forgot how absolutely delightful Rob Lowe is. Ginny is stunning. I can't wait for KILLING KENNEDY.

Kad, it's hardly an original choice it looks like an almost exact copy of JFKs official white house portrait.

The cliché Kennedy pose doesn't allow for a real understanding of what Lowe is bringing to the role that might be different from so many others. Goodwin doesn't look so much like Jackie as she does the late, great Lee Remick (with whom Jack did have a brief liaison)



I personally felt, god help me, that Katie Holmes looked more like Jackie in 'The Kennedys".



And of course there is Jill Hennessy of 'Jackie, Ethel, Joan' which is not only the best Jacqueline Kennedy depiction looks-wise but the strongest performance of the many film and television Jackies.



People forget Jacqueline Kennedy was tall and quite broad-shouldered in addition to having very long and slender hands and feet. A petite actress just looks lost in those crinolines and Cassini suits.

I thought Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes did very fine work in The Kennedys. It's on Netflix for those who are interested.

I've seen the trailer but not that still. Wow, James Marsden looks so much like Bobby Kennedy - although playing Jack. And Marsden has the same toothy, reedy grin as RFK.

Minka Kelly looks more like Jackie than Goodwin.

I do tend to prefer film or cable movie versions of the Kennedy story for many reasons, but one is they can devote more money to achieving the 'Jackie Look' :)

Can we pause for a quick moment to take in the original?



I think her Bouvier heritage is particularly evident in this shot.

I want that to happen! I believe I recall hearing within the last three or so years that Darren Aronofsky was going to direct her in just that project but I never heard what became of the idea after they divorced.

Also, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis starring Joanne Whalley and Tim Matheson as Jackie and JFK, and A Woman Named Jackie with Roma Downey.(FUN FACT: Young Sarah Michelle Gellar played Teenage Jackie in the Downey miniseries.)

Re the Jackie movie with Rachel Weisz and directed by Aronofsky, that fell through obviously due to their divorce. But last fall there were reports that Fox Searchlight was courting Natalie Portman for the role. From what I gathered, the movie is not a complete biopic. More like The Queen redux. It focuses on the assassination and the immediate aftermath and ends with his state funeral, all from Jackie's point of view and how she dealt privately with the tragedy in those 3-4 days.

Not completely relevant, but TLC will air a program called LETTERS TO JACKIE in the fall, on the 50th anniversary of the assassination. A generous handful of big names such as Betty White, Zooey Deschanel, Anne Hathway, Mark Ruffalo and more will read from a selection of almost a million letters sent to Jackie following the JFK's death. I hope it's tasteful but it's TLC so we'll see.

I would love to see a film or mini series made that depicted Jackie and the family in the days following the assassination.

I wonder if the proposed post assisination film or the docudrama will deal honestly (or at all) with Dr. Max Jacobson's administrations to the freshly widowed Jackie. The only way she was able to orchestrate Jack's state funeral mass was through amphetamine-laced 'vitamin shots". Few, if any, of Jacobson's patients knew what they were being injected with and most didn't care - Jack Kennedy himself said he didn't care if it was horse piss as long as it relieved his agonizing back pain.
