Somebody wonderful married me!

A week later than planned, due to unavoidable scheduling conflicts, but my partner (now husband!) and I were married today in our home state of New Jersey. I can't tell you how amazing it felt to be pronounced legally married spouses, and to do it in the place where we're both from, where our families live, and where we hope to move in the next few years. It also felt wonderful to do it on a day when another state (Hawaii) has taken the great step towards extending marriage rights to all.

We're taking a mini-moon this weekend here in Lambertville, complete with a short trip across to bridge to see Rocky Horror at Bucks County Playhouse. Since we're both in the middle of teaching right now, our official honeymoon has to wait until January. But I have to say that only a couple hours in, being married feels better than I ever imagined it could.
