Serial Mom is on one of the HBO channels right now. It's half over, but you can still catch the end with the Jury. re: Franklin Mint Faberge Egg I think it's on HBO3

As I'm sure you can tell, TB, we've all seen it far too many times already. re: Franklin Mint Faberge Egg

There is never "too many times" where that movie is concerned.

Fun story, and semi pointless, I was in Virgin Megastore one day with the intention of purchasing "Serial Mom" on DVD. I had it in my hand, then decided not to get it. I went and put it back on the shelf. As I was walking away I bumped into John Waters' boyfriend (whom I remembered from meeting at Taboo one day). I just looked at him and walked away. It was strange.

no, I don't think he saw me.

I was being cheap at the time, and kind of hoping they would come out with a trio pack including: Serial Mom, Welcome to the DollHouse, and Crybaby
I'm still hoping and therefore just sticking to my old VHS tapes for now.

There'll be no "Welcome to the Dollhouse" box set, Theatrebaby. It ain't no Waters movie. I want to have a party where you have to turn up as you're favorite Waters character. And someone has to go a Wrastling Rita from "Desperate Living".

It's not? Well damn, I thought it was. re: Franklin Mint Faberge Egg Still, I like those 3 movies. Perhaps I will buy them all and stick them together like a box set. re: Franklin Mint Faberge Egg

oh my Windy.......I MUST have that man in your avatar.........
as to Faberge eggs, having seen real ones, I don't think I could own a copy.........I don't mean that in a snobby way, but it would be like buying a cabin-cruiser, when I'd really want the Standart.

Glebb, I'm only 10 pages in on the Xenia biography, and LOVE it!

Cool about Xenia, Lily - I mean Elphaba.
I would love to go back and see the progress of the restoration of the Alexander Palace. Mauve Boudoir especially.

I was near the Baltic when I was in the gardens of Peterhof.
I would love to go back.
Are you considering one of Suzanne Massie's Signature Tours?

Absolutely.

When I went (from work in Turkey), I planned my own trip with a tour guide and driver in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. I felt more at ease with the driver and guide but got to plan each day as I liked. The Alexander Palace was not yet open to non Russian speaking tours at the time and I got in because of my guide.

Suzanne Massie must be quite interesting to say the least.

You are brave Elphaba.
I can't wait to hear about your tour.

Glebb - I can't believe you haven't been to Hillwood! It's one of my favorite places in DC. There are tiaras there, but the one you all have been talking about here is a full crown. A small crown, admittedly, but still a crown. Alexandra wore it centered inside the large imperial crown at her wedding. The imperial crown was broken up and sold after the revolution and the small wedding crown made it's way into Marjorie Merriweather Post's collection. You can just make out the small crown inside the larger crown in this famous painting by Tuxen:
