You joke, danmag, but that's where we're heading (okay, not naked, but government-issued jumpsuits or something like it. And tazber, these machines can see tampons, so they'd see suppositories too. We giving up our rights bit by bit, willingly, and we're not much (if at all) safer.

I'm decidely in the NAY camp. And it's all about the loss of freedom, not the modesty. When will we say no to increasing government intervention in our lives? They already know what we read in the library and search for on the net. Big brother is watching you. Get used to it. The terrorists really have won.

Yeah, and that statement alone is making my mind wander about some really gross things.

Trying to be tactful, but what if a person has any one of a number of conditions, such as a colostomy bag, accidents while wearing depends, you get my drift. I think this whole idea is too intrusive, intimate, embarrassing, and WRONG!!!!

Just saw a CNN newsflash that Terminal C at Newark Airport is on lock down because some guy went the wrong way through a checkpoint.

I'm okay with it (hoping it will indeed, keep us safer). I'm sure a TSA official will be "trained" in everything they would/could see. As much as we don't like a part of our body or think we have something "weird," it's really not that big of a deal...they will see it many times a day. Could it be a little embaressing or disturbing? Sure. But think of the millions of people who are go through security daily...the agents see the same things over and over and over again. I can almost be guarentee you that that they will not be talking about the large tampon you are wearing, how big your p*nis is, or how fake your breasts look.

The thing that concerns me is the people who fly often. Getting xrays that often is not safe. I don't fly all that much but I am still a little concerned about getting xrays everytime I walk through the machine.

If anything, I feel that we should use more EntryScans. They're much faster and less intrusive than these machines, and they are designed to sniff out bomb residue in the clothing by simply using small puffs of air.

i think that every traveler should be subjected to a minimum 30 minute interview and a body cavity search. scan shman, we need to get our hands dirty on this one!

failing that, scan and scan and scan and profile and shoot first and ask questions later.

Are any of you worried about the health implications? Especially for those who travel a lot.

This is basically an X-ray, and as long as our government won't mind when everyone flying files a class-action lawsuit for the cancer they develop as a result of repeated scanning, then I'm all for it.

There are all kinds of disturbing statistics coming out now about the overuse of X-rays in our society (mammograms, PET scans, CT scans, etc.). Pretty scary stuff.
