I'm loving this so much! The opening scene of the

SPOILER (if anyone else is watching...)
the girlfriend giving a blow job and causing a car wreck was amazing! Will this be a new Melrose Place?

And Cheno is all the campy goodness I could have hoped for. Now she just needs to start singing at church and it will be complete.

Wow, kind of like a over-the-top version of Steel Magnolias, but with even more unbelievable characters and dialogue if that is possible. What a mess! Seriously. Train wreck. And we are to believe that all these women are supposed to be the same age? I mean Cheno's character is the one that was supposed to have had all the work done and she STILL looks 10 years older than Annie Potts (who is playing the Grandmother!)

What a hot mess! I wanted to like it as a sort of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES Season 1 type of show. I literally didn't laugh one time, I love Chenoweth and felt bad that she had this awful role. Leslie Bibb can't act, Annie Potts was playing Lucille from ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT without any of the sharpness and freshness that made Jessica Walter's performance iconic. Deleting this one from my DVR pass right away.

Yeah, this was pretty terrible. Did anyone NOT figure out immediately that it was Annie Potts who sent the car and the clothes? And it was obvious from the get go that Yitzhak's husband was a big old gay, so I just felt like I spent an hour waiting for the show to catch up with me.

Yeah, I kind of liked it.

It has a lot of potential and a lot of possible ways to go. Lots of good characters and a nice protagonist. I love that she's a reformed mean girl. Really nice potential for some juicy backstory.

I thought the mother character was strongest. Definitely playing off Walter's brilliant performance in "Arrested Development" but that's far from a bad thing. The writers seemed to be having the most fun with her.

I'll stick with this one. Certainly less frustrating than "Smash."

I didn't hate it, but it certainly is on the bottom of new shows I like from this season. I'll still watch to see where it heads. I do agree though, Kristin Chenoweth does seem a bit old to have graduated high school with those women.

Watched most of it last night. What a good cast, but its so old hat it make that toothless DEPSERATE HOUSEWIVES look like an envelope-pusher.

Pity. It was nice to see Miriam Shor get some work.

It started modest with a 2.2 demo and 7 million viewers in the 10pm slot. Too early to tell if it will survive (it's lead in Housewives will hopefully start to rise now its coming a close so that should help) but Pan Am's pilot episide in the same time slot started above a 3.0 demo and 11 million viewers, and we all know what happened to that.

The ages of the actresses in question range from 44 (Chenoweth) to 38. I didn't notice a glaring disparity, but I was flipping through the New Yorker as I watched.

It doesn't really matter the actual ages of the actresses but how they look and Cheno looks considerably older.

Well I loved every second of it. For a pilot episode it was incredibly strong and I see this one doing very well and only getting better with time.

^I agree.

Alot of the humor she uses is about instances and people you do find in the south. It is a very different from the more northern states, so some of the instances of humor are will be hard for northerners to get.

I thought it was ok--certainly much better than the commercials would have led me to expect. I'll give it a few more episodes to see how it gells.

I'm not sure I buy this argument though that if you didn't laugh out loud it's because you simply don't understand Texas (I heard a radio interview with Potts and the playwright/creator--I didn't realize hw wrote Soapdish too so he gets points from me there--and he made a point that Texans NEVER refer to themselves as Southern, whether that's true or not, so...)
