It doesn't have anything to do with referring to yourself as Southern or not. The mentality is the same and these Texan women are just like the women I grew up with down south. "Southern" can be as much cultural as it is geographical.

I didn't feel Chenoweth looked that out of place, especially since they were playing up how much work her character has had done. And remember, not everybody who has had a lot of work done ends up looking nearly as good or as young as they want to believe. It wasn't that long ago when Nicole Kidman froze her face. I'm sure everyone around her told her she looked great, but we all saw the actual results.

Over all I found the pilot enough to at least have me throw it in my Hulu queue. We'll see how it shapes up.

Oh I get that--I just don't buy the thought that if someone didn't find it funny it's because they don't understand Southerners/Texans. (and for the record I did find it somewhat funny-I enjoyed it-so I have no clue why I'm pushing this argument :P )

I enjoyed it. Annie Potts looked great and seemed to be having alot of fun with her role. Will definately watch. But I still watch Desperate Housewives!!

Watched it last night. Not horrible, not exceptional. I'll keep my season pass with it for now and see where it goes. But I agree, Cheno just looks out of place in regards to the rest of the cast.

I'm just thankful to have Leslie Bibb back on my tv. Her final speech in church was all kinds of awesome. How long has it been since Popular? It seems she hasn't aged a day.

Well it's produced by Darren Star who created Sex and the City and written by Robert Harling who wrote Steel Magnolias, Soapdish and First Wives Club, so... Yes. Of course. Just another example of the gay agenda insideously burrowing its way into middle America.

I really enjoy this show. I don't think it particularly good or bad, but it is escapist fun. I find myself smiling a lot when watching it. Annie Potts can do no wrong by me. Plus, I'm thrilled to see Miriam Shor on my TV every week.

I'll keep watching. I enjoy it more than Smash, which I will also keep watching.

I like it... I'm still a little bitter though; they've already replaced Desperate Housewives while it's still on the air.

That said, it has potential. I feel as if it's like The Nanny for the Texan gentiles

I think it's trashy fun. Plus, I also appreciated that Miriam Shore is not a clueless wife married to a homo. I like the fact that she's fully aware of her husband's relationships with men. I'm interested in seeing where that leads.

I enjoy this show WAY more than I thought I would, but probably because I was born and raised in Texas. I lived in Dallas for a couple of years and this show illustrates precisely why I hated that city with a passion. Not that these characters can't be found in other Texas cities, but there is a reason Dallas has the reputation it has. I love the cast and I was thoroughly entertained. How is it that Annie Potts looks that amazing without looking like a freak? And how can we convince her to refer her doctor to Madeleine Stowe?

I LOVE this show!!!! Annie Potts is good! Wouldn't it be great for Delta Burke to make a few guest appearances?

I have loved Leslie Bibb since "Popular"! I thought I was the only one who knew about that show!

I think my favorite of the b*tches is Cricket. Other characters I love are Heather and of course Gigi.

I do hope that next Fall, this replaces DH and Pan Am comes back!
