And there's no money for the Glee club, but the school has enough money to hang up a blinking sign that says "Kurt"?
You're aware that was part of his fantasy right? You can't honestly think they bought that sign...
I don't normally listen to music clips before episodes air, but I was really curious about Poker Face. I think that is the worst cover I have ever heard on this show. I'm not just saying it either because I'm not a Lady Gaga fan. That actually is the one song I do like.
The episode was overall blah for me. Good, but ehhhh. Could be that it didn't have enough of my future husband but who knows.
I DID really enjoy Puck's song and Kurt's Dad!
I am already drooling for next week. The one episode I've been looking to all season!
I agree, Marianne.
I'm a huge Gaga fan, but it really does seem blah. The clip of Bad Romance doesn't sound that good either. I know the show is essentially high production karaoke, but these two seem to scream it out more than the others. Perhaps it's just because Gaga's versions are too fresh in everyones minds, and it's hard to follow that act and do them justice. Maybe it's just Idina's vocals that don't fit the style of the acoustic version.
I'm hoping that, like with Gaga, the visuals elevate the songs to another level. The costumes look great and I'm sure Lea Michelle mentioned something about heavily choreographed numbers...so it'll be a bit different from the Glee norm of just bopping about on a stage in matching outfits.

I enjoyed last night's episode. "The Lady is a Tramp" was wonderful and I think stands out as my favorite performance so far in the series. Last night was the first time I noticed (And correct me if I am wrong) Naya Rivera's voice (Santana?) during "The Boy is Mine" and was really impressed. Would love to hear her solo more.

I did not get to see all of the episode, but it got a thumbs up from the family. I loved Kurt's Turn, very campy!
I bet an agent or manager told the producers that the mowhawk (sp) had to go!
The scene between Kurt and his dad made me cry. Those two are the emotional core in this show and I love them both.
Have to admit I teared up during that scene between Kurt and his dad. So well done.
I read somewhere that the actor wanted the Puck-hawk gone. It seems like everyone had it in for the hawk. I loved it, but I didn't have to live with it.
There has been next to nothing thatt advances an actual PLOT in weeks.
I agree. The episodes are quite busy, but when you sit back, nothing of substance is exactly happening. They're probably just cashing in by putting out as many songs as possible, even if they have to design sitcom style one-shot plots to match the artists/songs they want (or were told to use), instead of developing long-term arcs and using the music that best expresses whatever is going on.

It was an instant favorite for me! It was so smooth and enjoyable.

Matt Morrison is going to be on Regis and Kelly tomorrow morning, for those who care.
I'll have to wait until someone puts it on youtube to see it.
"Dream On" tonight!!!!
I am so unbelievably excited for the episode tonight. NPH, Matt, Aerosmith, Billy Joel (if that was just a rumor I will be SOOOOOOOOOO pissed and heartbroken)!!!!!!
The reviews I've been reading about the first tour stop in Phoenix this weekend have all been pretty much positive. Good for the gang!
Mike O'Malley, as Kurt's dad, is absolutely wonderful.
I hope it gets loaded there soon too because it was a really cute interview.
So, the Lady Gaga clips were just put out for a future episode, and have nothing to do with tonight's episode? I'm actually glad about that.
I wanted to go to one of the New York shows, but by the time I got home from work on the day they went on sale, I couldn't get them. Oh well, I have plenty of other things planned next week to make up for it.
Argh - after some searching - the whole Billy Joel thing is a rumor...boo.
the songs for tonight are:
Dream on - MM & NPH
I Dreamed a Dream - Lea & Idina
Dream a little Dream - Artie
Safety Dance - Cast.
"Dream on - MM & NPH "
Too excited for this!
I absolutely love Poker Face...but I can't even bring myself to listen to Bad Romance all the way through. I would rather just listen to Gaga's version. Hopefully the visuals will make it better.
Artie's "Dream A Little Dream" was so charming and nice.
Those eyes!!! That facial scruff!!!!! Be still my heart!
When Jesse got into the car I thought Shelby was just using him for Vocal Adrenaline.
^ I was thinking that too. So, she really is Rachel's mom?

Mike O'Malley as Kurt's dad is awesome.. BUT there is a huge part of me that always sees the host of Nickelodeon's GUTS!!! haha
The levels of awesomeness that was this episode is just amazing!!!
MM/NPH - Piano Man - swoon, drool, love!
MM/NPH - Dream On - to die for (although for as much as I want to marry Matt - I would not have objected to him and NPH kissing in the beginning when they went face to face lol)
NPH + Jane Lynch - even with Glee on the air, can them two get their own show as well? awesome!
Groff is really growing on me. I always liked his voice but never really found him that attractive, but as each episode goes on, that changes.
I am not usually a fan of Idina, but I thought she was great in IDaD.
Artie - break my heart. I just want to make him cookies. I loved Quinn feeling for him during DaLD.
Oh an may I suggest that they ALWAYS clothe Matt in tight fitting t-shirts? (although those khackis in Dream On did nothing for him!)
I'll stop rambling now and go back to watch the performances again.
Tonight's episode was the best of the entire first season.

Holy crap! The previous few episodes have mainly disappointing, but holy crap. That episode came out of nowhere. This one may be one of my new favorites! I'm thoroughly impressed!
