Personally I like the old-fashioned method of bars, restaurants and parties for meeting people, but all my friends who are or have been in recovery recommend the Center on 13th Street in the West Village. They have tons of different kinds of dances, classes and get-togethers for like-minded individuals -- they even have Bingo (couldn't you just DIE!). Perfect for those who don't like the bar scene. Go to the site below and check out "what's happening" -- there's a candle-making class in two weeks
