I believe only Freddy was gay. The rest of Queen are straight.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Actually, I think he's probably David Bowie/Kurt Cobain bisexual....that is, non-practicing.

Half of The Scissor Sisters

Make that three-fifths! Jake Shears, Del Marquis and Baby Daddy of the Scissor Sisters are all gay. Then Ana Matronic dresses like a drag queen, and lone straight man Paddy Boom sure looks gay in pictures.

I do think the British are more accepting of "gayness," at least in their rock/pop. British music has always embraced a gay sensibility: look at the continuing success of flamboyant, sexually-ambigious or gender-bending acts like the Pet Shop Boys, George Michael, New Order, Blur, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, all those 80s New Wave and 90s Brit pop bands.....and the Scissor Sisters. The Brits certainly love a level of camp in their music.

Today's American music, on the other hand, is dominated by hip hop, which is generally chauvinist and homophobic.

Perry Somethin' - the one from Jane's Addiction

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.
