Interesting!

Why does Rufus Wainwright even care? I hope he's not taking too many tips from Uncle Elton in gabbing publicly about other celebrities.
Hmm. I go to the Crunch on Lafayette. Although a lot of the gays go there, it's pretty darn tame, especially compared with the NYSC stories I've heard.
I go to the supposed gayest - Equinox on Columbus Circle - but i'd have to disagree with the title.
There has to be one in Chelsea that's gayer by far.
Where does Amanda Lepore workout?
As for Rufus Wainwright - I have read so many interviews lately in which he criticizes/attacks other celebrities. It's tired.
heh..the comments are great!
I bet it's harder to name the "straightest" gym in NYC.
Seriously. When you've got Crunch offering Stiletto Strength and men attending, any chance of a straight gym is out the window.

lol!! stiletto strength
When they start "S Factor for Men" classes, I'm outta there.
David Barton in Chelsea, no question.
Well...what is the definition of 'gayest'.
Is it that the clientele are gay? Or that there's action to be had?
And what kind of action?
Broadway Chorus Boy? That would be Equinox on 50th and Bdwy (second place goes to NYSC on 41st).
So many fags with such specific tastes that the deal is hardly ever sealed? That would be Equinox on Greenwich.
The steam room where true love can blossom? Why, Crunch on 42nd, dontcha know!
The best steam room to get a Barbara Jean WHILE queens fight over Bernadette's performance in GYPSY? Equinox on 63rd.
God...why can't they be more specific in their parameters in that article???
Darlin...there are three things at which I'm an expert:
1. Acting
2. Being a Legal Secretary
3. Gym Sex
You know, I'm probably blind, but I couldn't even find the damn Cruch on 42nd the other day. How far out to the west is it? Floating in the Hudson River?

That was the best post ever, robbie
Robbie- so glad to know we have a resident expert.
You know, I see people staring all the time, but I've never actually seen anyone in action. I probably go at more peak hours, though.
Calvin- 42nd St. Crunch is WAY the hell over, i think by 11th Ave. I used to go there to swim, and the steamroom there is very, very steamy.
Ah, I think I gave up when I hit 11th. Maybe I should have kept going! Usually I can see their big flags from blocks away, though. And now I have an extra incentive, so thanks, Robbie!
Actually, I go to the 42nd st. Crunch, and Child, it has DIED DOWN like a muthaf**ka....Too many picky queens who aren't willing to lower their impeccable standards (and that means bad news for me). Plus, they just fixed the lighting so its so bright in both of the steam rooms its like a nuclear bomb went off--not sexy.
Why they gotta ruin EVERYTHING???
It can't be deader than the Crunch on 83rd, which I go to on weekends. There are about 10 people working out there when I'm there -- and they all want to use the same weight machines that I do.
Oh...that Crunch was HEAVEN! It has a great pool, Heather (who is probably no longer there) was my favorite yoga teacher of all time and BOY did I get lucky there.
My personal favorite moment related to that steam room was at the opening night of a show I did a few years ago. The director introduced his ex (and still friend) to me and my boyfriend. And all three of us just giggled and giggled. Cause we had all hooked up with each other separately at that Crunch!
Good times.
Ah, liasons...
"..a Barbara Jean WHILE queens fight over Bernadette's performance in GYPSY..."
There isn't enough Cialis in the world to counteract the wilting effect on me of the mere mention of Bernadette's Rose.
Patti, on the other hand, gets me HARD.
From the comments section of that article:
"high self-esteem gay: Barton, Crunch on Lafayette
medium self-esteem gay: NYSC's on 23rd (both), Crunch on 2nd btwn 58th and 59th
low self-esteem gay: NYSC on Irving
hot sex with guys wearing wedding rings: bally's sports on 32nd
wearing buttplugs while lifting: 19th street gym
hear complaints that "the provided "invigorating post-shower eucalyptus splash seemed to be left out from yesterday and thus not fresh enough and do you know how stressful that is for me as a stylist, a professional stylist?": any Equinox"
