Posted: 10/4/14 at 9:15pmLoved the first season. The show is so under the radar, but that is no reflection on the overall quality. Laurie Metcalf can do no wrong. She has a new network television show, but Getting On was renewed for a second season of six episodes that begin airing in November. Updated On: 10/4/14 at 09:15 PM

Posted: 11/11/14 at 12:21pmWatched the premiere episode of the new season this morning. Metcalf's scene in the bathroom was comedic gold. And yes, Borstein was fantastic as well. So happy to have this gem of a show back.

^^^^ I agree and want to add that this is an excellent partner to THE COMEBACK. Both deliver very dry comedy, dry to the point it's often more painful than amusing.
But if you like that sort of thing--and I do--GETTING ON and COMEBACK are masterful examples.
(The above being said, it strikes me that GETTING ON includes scenes of total absurdity--the bathroom scene mentioned above and the "runaway bed" scene--that THE COMEBACK eschews. This may make GETTING ON palatable to viewers who find COMEBACK too much to take.)
