I heard there was some legal copyright problems with the old cookie names, so Samoas, Trefoils, Tagalongs, and Do-Si-Dos have been renamed.

Out here in CA, preorders started last Saturday, but no cookies have been delivered yet. We're paying $4 a box...did I read that some of you pay $3.50?

I can't wait for my boxes to arrive!

I ordered Samoas today, so they have not been renamed. And yes, they are $3.50 a box. Perhaps some girl scouts are trying to earn their "extortion badge."

In different parts of the country, different companies produce the cookies, hence the differences in names. I remember when we switched over to the new names. And I assume the price must vary as well (or someone didn't get the memo about the price going up) because they're $4 here as well.

For the record...I'm a Girl Scout, although technically I've graduated or something. I'm an adult Girl Scout now (aka, I've turned 1

. My mom is the leader of my troup (why I've done it for so long), so I have an extensive knowledge of Girl Scout cookies. Much more than I really need to know.

I've used this recipe a lot and it turns out great, the only thing I recommend is to up the mint that you put in. The recommended amount just didn't seem enough to me.

Diva, see what happens when a pregnant woman craves thin mints in November?

You can find all sorts of good stuff like that out there. To make cookies about the right size use the top of a spice container that's been washed really well. They end up being the right size, but without the scalloped edging. If I weren't so tired I would make some now because this thread is making me really want GS cookies.

I've been bombarded by Girl Scouts, a girl in my Acting Workshop class was selling them for her sister, so I bought a box.
Then I go to work and right outside is the Girl Scouts and my former six grade teacher with her little daughter, and they guilted me into buying another box.
God damn "pushy crackwhores."--KG!

Here's a hint that I've been doing for years. Buy up as many boxes of thin mints that you can afford. Keep them in the freezer. They hold up really well and are great crushed over ice cream or just leave them out for a few minutes and they're great.

The only review of a show that matters is your own.

I live in an area that's relatively low on Girl Scouts and, surprisingly, only had the cookies for the first time last year when someone I know sent me a couple of boxes of Thin Mints...which I enjoyed. Previously, I'd only had them in Eddy's Ice Cream.

They were $3 when I was a girl scout, and that was MANY more years ago than 5........the boxes got smaller over the years though.
