Have you noticed that in certain markets they are calling Samoas "Caramel deLites"? (see photo above) What's up with that?

Same here. (Un)Fortunately for me, the girl scouts in the American community here don't sell the cookies, so I'm not tempted.
My favorites are the thin mints and the Trefoil shortbread cookies.

So, why did they start marketing them with a more ingredient warning name? Tagalongs are now Peanut Butter Patties. Samoas are now Caramel-delites or something silly. Edys Ice Cream makes a Thin Mint and a Samoas ice cream with a Girl Scout label. Never tried them, though.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Just more of the dumbing-down of America, JG2. Apparently we can't be trusted to remember that Tagalongs are the peanut butter/chocolate cookes and that Samoas are the ones with caramel.

I freeze the thin mints and then eat approximately a box a day once they are delivered... they are just too delicious

When I was a Girl Scout in the 60's, the cookies sold for about forty cents a box. What do they cost now?

That's a joke, right? I thought that's how you got your cookies-the girl scout delivered them when they came in.

I wish I could afford girl scout cookies! The Edy's thin mint ice cream is the better of the two mentioned earlier. They make ice cream out of tagalongs also.

The local girl scout troops set up shop outside the grocery store on the weekends. I'm a sucker. I always buy.
Thin Mints are heaven. I also tried a couple of the new flavors- Lemonades (shortbread with lemon icing) and Thanksalots (or something like that) which are shortbread with chocolate icing.
They are insanely fattening, but yummy.

What's worse is that it is the season of Lent, so I've given up anything and everything that is sugary or fattening or bad for you. So I am practically dying for a box of Samoas or Caramel Delights ( I think they have different names regionally).

Love the Samoas, but can only confirm that one box was labelled "Samoas" because the other box didn't make it through the first day in our house. I miss the "lite" lemon cookies from the last couple of years. The new Cafe Cookies look like a reshaped Trefoil with a cinnamonny flavor added, but that box hasn't been opened yet. Gotta show some restraint.
