Somewhere, Father Coughlin is looking up at Beck and nodding with approval.

I just went to the store to get some milk, and there was a group massed in front having their own little rally in support of the DC gathering. So, I just kept going to another nearby store, and they were there, as well. After reaching the third store and seeing the same thing, I just bit my tongue and went through them to get the milk.

On my way out, I found out this was a co-ordinated effort that had gotten at least 50 people in front of every grocery store in our city - which is substantial.

I may not go out again today.

This is nothing new, but I still feel today,of all days, it would be appropriate to share.

The Teabagger gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot
full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for
minimum water quality standards.

He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His
medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure
their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers
medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their
employers for paid medical insurance, now The Teabagger gets it too. He prepares
his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. The Teabagger's bacon is safe to
eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing
industry.

The Teabagger takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is
properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents
because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting
on his body and how much it contained. The Teabagger dresses, walks outside and
takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree-
hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our
air.

He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to
work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation
fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public
transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a
contributor.

The Teabagger begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay,
medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some
liberal union members fought and died for these working standards.
The Teabagger's employer pays these standards because The Teabagger's employer doesn't
want his employees to call the union.

If The Teabagger is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he'll get a worker
compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn't think
he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It's noon time, The Teabagger needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some
bills. The Teabagger's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some
liberal wanted to protect The Teabagger's money from unscrupulous bankers who
ruined the banking system before the depression.

The Teabagger has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below
market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that
The Teabagger and the government would be better off if he was educated and
earned more money over his lifetime.

The Teabagger is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at
his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to
dad's; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal
fought for car safety standards.

He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live
in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers
didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until
some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and
demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republicans would still
be sitting in the dark)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social
Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could
take care of himself so The Teabagger wouldn't have to. After his visit with dad
he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, the host keeps saying that liberals
are bad and conservatives are good (He doesn't tell The Teabagger that his
beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit
The Teabagger enjoys throughout his day). The Teabagger agrees, "We don't need those big
government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self-made man
who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I
have."

I just find it utterly hilarious that these are pretty much the same people who objected to the MLK holiday because "he was a Communist".

The Chicago Tribune has a story that someone came to the rally with an anti-Glenn Beck sign. The sign holder was yelled at, threatened and finally someone physically took the sign away and destroyed it.

Remember, these are the same people who, when confronted by racist and threatening signs at Tea Party rallies say "There is nothing we can do about a few individuals who bring objectionable materials to the rally."

People in this country are so concerned about attacks from outside the country, but they don't realize that we (American citizens) are destroying this country bit by bit, with our hatred and stupidity (and I mean on both sides).

OR, claim that they're obvious Democratic 'plants' designed to discredit the movement.

America will destroy itself. It will go bankrupt on endless wars. The divisiveness of politics and class and mumblings of secession will create civil war, acts of terrorism, etc. The talking heads who made a living contributing to this divisiveness will take refuge on their tropical island estates.

You'd think we'd have other lessons to learn that haven't already been learned thousands of times. When are we getting past this level in the video game already?

Believe it or not, I just went back to confirm something Beck said:

"This isn't about one church or one faith over another. It is about the eternal principals of God. For 240 years they have been absent from the American landscape."

So, Beck is confirming that America was not founded upon Christianity or God - correct? And, if you are a Beck follower, you cannot possibly argue that America was formed as a Christian nation - correct?

The thing is, there is no logic or consistency to this movement. They argue that they have a right to rally at the Lincoln memorial on the anniversary of I Have a Dream even if people are upset by that at the same time they want to ban the so-called "Ground Zero Mosque" because it upsets people. They claim to worship the constitution even as they talk about armed revolt or secession.

Oh goodness, I just got to ride on the metro in DC with a bunch of them with their "We the people" and "American flag" shirts. Not a political rally my ass, one person had a least 10 "I can see November from my backyard" stickers plastered all over a baby stroller.

Joe, thanks for the quotes around "Ground Zero Mosque."

I insist on them when using that phrase. Same as when mentioning "Doctor" Laura or "family" "values" (I've nearly sprained a wrist with that one).

The claims of not being political are ludicrous - that's why they're in DC! But I didn't expect the completely overt rallying cry for the 'Christian Nation' that drove it all - and it turned my stomach. The attempt at claiming propriety over the civil rights movement - while giving a slap in the face to any who aren't Christian - was chilling to me. All I could hear after awhile was a barely disguised call to the New Crusades.

Q, I was on the bus in DC this morning as we passed a group of folks wearing "Restoring Integrity Starts Here" shirts. Funny thing is, most of us on the bus all rolled our eyes. The sanctimonious flock are being fed a crock of bull, and they're all falling for it hook, line and sinker.

As repugnant as Beck, Palin, et al are, I am glad this event happened. While it may get all the loons riled up, it only serves to distance them from anyone with half a brain (or more). They may well be able to win some GOP primaries, and even some elections, given the current climate and the weakness of some Dems, but they can't become a national force spewing their hate.

Reading those transcripts of his speech, Glenn Beck finally appears as he truly is: no better than those people who take up residence in the 42nd street subway terminal, shouting about salvation and hawking their books.
