Did you watch last night 69?
I missed last nite....DAMN! I'm glad Sullivan did a good job, but I agree with Namo.
Cal, Tom Snyder? LOL!
He asked every guest..."was your dad a drinker?"
Namo--thanks for reminding me about sullivan
occasionally, i have a brain fart and think i admire him.
Regardless of what you think about Sullivan in general, he did very well with last night's topic. As the only non-clergy on the panel, he was unafraid to speak in a way that might not become a clergy person. His pointed questioning clearly flummoxed one of the conservative panelists.
'I'm still glad I chucked gum at the back of his head last summer at Showgirls.'
And people wonder why I get all hot and bothered when you're in the room.
Whether or not one thinks Larry King is tired or a moron is really pointless when qualifying the possibility that his guests might be able to use the platform of his television show to SAY something. I don't know King's ratings but I'd like to think that, yes, at least a handful of people have watched his shows on gays, transgendered/transsexual people, the environment and tons of other issues/debates and learned SOMETHING from the brilliance of the guests. And thank God, someone, even if that someone is Larry King (not that I really get how he's such a worthy punching bag), is letting these issues have a voice.
My problem with Larry King, Jerby, is that his platform is far, far too open. As I said earlier, he'll have James Dobson on for an entire hour and seem to fawn over almost everything his says. I'm not asking for a double standard here. I'd like to see him ask tough questions to his liberal guests, too.
Well, I can certainly agree with that.
Where have all the JOURNALISTS gone? People who take risks and ask the tough questions. We're becoming a nation of wimps.
