"God and Gays" tonight on Larry King Live

Tonight's edition of Larry King Live (9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on CNN) will focus on "God and Gays." One of the in-studio guests will be Rev. Dr. Jo Hudson, the Senior Pastor of Cathedral of Hope, the world's largest liberal Christian church with a predominantly lesbian and gay outreach.

(Yes, that is my church and my day job!)

Why do I think the majority of gays (such as myself) on this board will be tuned to PBS for 'Piazza?'

Not only that, but Conservatives rarely watch Larry King. So the only people that will be watching are straight liberals who know nothing about God or gays.

Yes, I do know, goth. I have to read your inane posts that insult gays and liberals and anyone who doesn't subscribe to the conservative ideals of Republicans or YOUR version of Christianity.

I hope (despite your not being a straight liberal) you watch the program tonite and see what the Religious Left has to say on the subject--and know that their voice is just as valid an understanding of "what Jesus would do". In fact, I believe that their understanding is MUCH closer to Jesus than those on the Religious Right who spread so much hatred and have the most misguided focus on what issues are imperative.

Goth, what a perfect opportunity this will be for straight liberals to learn something about God and gays.

Now for my own TV-watching dilemma: I will begin watching (and Tivoing) "Light in the Piazza" at 7 p.m. CT on the middle floor. I will Tivo "So You Think You Can Dance" on the bottom floor of the house, while watching Larry King Live on the third floor and continuing to Tivo "Light in the Piazza." When Larry King is over, I will flip to ABC to check the basketball game (Go Mavs!) and then return to watching "Light in the Piazza," periodically checking the game to see if I need to watch that.

Whew! I am exhausted just thinking about it!

And some pizza and a nice Tuscan red.

But he would Tivo the Larry King.
