Looks like we had a great night last night =) woohoo!!!
I almost feel bad about rubbing it in, but, after all the flack i've taken on this board, I need to gloat a little. Since Bush clearly won the Popular vote, can all of you guys stop whining about the election? He won fair and square, and even if you don't like it, it's what the people wanted so I don't wanna hear anything about a stolen election.
How are you doing, Rodney? =)
Election aside I don't think I can like you much.
glebb - you took the words out of my mouth.
Rodney needs a mate..why don't you marry him Mimi.
The reason you get so much flack on this board, Princess MimiDumbAss is because you are a stupid little twit with a fourth grade education who has no clue what she is talking about. You regurgitate information you hear on the news or from your Mommy and Daddy and pass it off as your own thoughts as if we were stupid enough to believe someone of your small minded intelectual capacity would be able to compose them on your own.
Princess Minihaha... you and RodneyK deserve each other.
The divisiveness on this board does not bode well for doing the work that needs to be done to move this country forward.
Matt - wow - you said what so many of us are thinking...
Politics aside, I like all of you very much. I am hoping and praying that the administration that was elected last night concentrates on what is important: Building the economy, leaving Iraq as smoothly as possible, and keeping us safe.
I am optimistic. But to those of you who spent the months spewing hatred and insults instead of reasoned arguments. Ha ha.
I'm just in a mood today.
"Politics aside, I like all of you very much. I am hoping and praying that the administration that was elected last night concentrates on what is important: Building the economy, leaving Iraq as smoothly as possible, and keeping us safe."
ck, regardless of the fact that most likely, (and statistically speaking at this point), Kerry lost the election, i echo your sentiments... let's move on!
But to those of you who spent the months spewing hatred and insults instead of reasoned arguments. Ha ha.
Ironically, that beautifully describes Rodney and Princess MimiDumbAss, doesn't it?
I love you, Addy.
Yes it does Pop....yes it does.
i'm not the one spewing hatred, popculture. Matt, I could not care LESS what you think of me. Because you know absolutely nothing about my life or who I am as a person. Thinking someone ioos an idiot because they dissagree with you is kind of wrong, don't you think?
Anyway, continue hating me all you want, this is just a message board, I don't care what you guys think =) Bye!!
"Thinking someone ioos an idiot because they dissagree with you is kind of wrong, don't you think?"
Thank you for proving my point.
I posted this on the adult thread, but wanted to share it here also...
I am extremely upset about the fighting that is taking place on this board.
I happen to LOVE being an American. I take the good with the bad. I look at this as a challenge to figure out what I can do to advocate for the causes I believe in.
This is my wake-up call. If I want a country that represents my interests and beliefs then I have to do more than cast my vote on election day. I have to work for those causes every day between now and 2008.
Time to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
I do believe ONE PERSON can make a difference.
Maybe it's the eternal optimism by which I define my life.
But, it's better than spewing hate.
Just my opinion.
Bye Princees Minihaha. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
There are two routes you can go...
a) George W. Bush is a moronic bastard and I hope he chokes on a pretzel. I'm moving to Canada, because we're all idiots. I hate them.
b) George W. Bush is promoting a platform that I don't personally agree with, and I hope that our nation can weather the divisiveness. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that we are working together to protect the American way of life; including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
For the people who go route A, (I can think of at least 3 or 4, from both sides) I have no respect... regardless of political affiliation. I do NOT like character assault and personal attacks. It disgusts me.
Ah well. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I choose one from column A.
This is from a letter I just received from a good friend who lives in DC..and I quote:
"I also
saw that Mississippi -- the poorest state in the whole country -- went for Bush
(I guess alot of the southern states did). Do they think the Republicans are
going to help them find jobs and get healthcare? They also said many people
were voting on the issues of gay marriage and abortion. These are issues that
don't affect many of those voters in their daily lives, yet they're voting on
them due to a sense of "moral" obligation. WHY do they think Republicans have
the market cornered on morality? Isn't it moral to live and let live, to help
people find jobs, make sure more people, including children, are covered by
healthcare, to try to reduce the most massive national debt in history and
regain some fiscal responsibility? Isn't it moral to try to save the Social
Security system that we've all been paying into our whole working lives, so we
can have something to help us when we can't work anymore? Isn't it moral NOT to
barge into a country and mow it down because we THINK it has weapons of mass
destruction?"
CurtainUp, I'm coming with you to Canada.
Let's just remember that nearly half the country DIDN'T vote for Bush. Where I live that is considered a significant number.
You may feel like you've won now but after four more years of this tyrant, tell me how you feel. Sadder to me than Bush himself, however, are the people who have actually bought into his hype and the hype of the puppet masters behind him.
I know dyed in the wool Republicans who didn't vote for this man, so clearly you don't have a mandate. Democracy being what it is, we have elected a President and we will live with him for better or worse. I wouldn't suggest you gloat. It isn't becoming.
As for putting the divisiveness aside and working together, this country will do that...because it comes down the individual people and what we do when we are pressed (as in the days after 9/11). We will overcome this and move on. But please remember that one of the pillars on which this country is built, is free speech. So please don't tell me to shut up and sit down.
