Greg Jbara Love Thread Part 5: Keeping the love for our true prance alive!

Mary, my parents got rid of all television. All I have are DVDs and video cassettes to watch.

PS I love Greg.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

In 8th grade, my English teacher had us play some of the games to get us more comfortable with speeches. It was fun!

Okay, so I just got the most amazing present in the world. My mom always gets us gifts when we go into new schools or whatever...so she had my sister's ex-boyfriend, whose a graphic designer, make something very special for me. It's so awesome and I really want to post it, except it's a PDF file. Anyone know how to change a PDF to a JPG?

I could try taking a picture of it...hmm...

Andrea, wow. I guess I can see pros and cons in that ... but I don't know if I could give up tv entirely. Where I grew up, a local preacher, for years, wouldn't allow a tv set in his home. He had three or four daughters, and word was that anytime they were at some neighbor's who had a television, they'd sit there just completely mesmerized by it. lol Finally they got one.

So confession time here. Last night I finally, for the first time in my life, got genuinely plastered. I don't drink much or often and have, in the past, been at most merely tipsy, I'd say. Giggly but not falling down drunk. Last night while we were watching tv (see it is somewhat connected to the topic at hand) I told Al I thought I'd have a shot of whiskey (or whisky, since what we had on hand is some cheap but effective Scotch whisky, and that's how they spell it over there). He egged me on ... "You've had a rough day, you're in pain, go for it." Well I really went for it. I had one shot, then two ... then I lost count, but I think it was somewhere between five and six before I was done. I now know for a fact that I am not a mean drunk ... I am an everything is funny drunk. I could not stop laughing. I stumbled on to bed after sending a friend a typo-ridden email that I'm not sure will make any sense. Few min. later I was up because I'd barfed (nothing but liquid) on the top sheet and decided to just change both after I got out of the bathroom (where I managed to make it to the sink before the next eruption came out). I can laugh hysterically and throw up at the same time, btw. Got the sheets changed, crawled back in bed, and eventually fell asleep. Al says he could hear me laughing and going "Woooo!!" for the next half hour after I went to bed.

Didn't feel so "wooo!" this morning, lol More like "whoa, craaaappp...." ... Therefore I think that'll do me in the gettin' liquored up department for a while, thank you very much.

Antibiotics are making me a little draggy, they always do, but in general, I'm not feeling too badly this afternoon. Still a little sore ... had nuked mac 'n cheese for lunch, had to chew on the opposite side from where the extraction was done.

LOL - did you go on your bender after taking a pain pill? You must have been in HEAVEN..........

It's kind of like the preacher's daughters. Most of us hell-bent folks get those out of our systems in our youth. Barb is so sweet, she waited till now. Al said it was ok and she was hurting and alcohol can be medicinal, so WHY NOT?

Enough funnies - I hope you're feeling better. (I'm talking about the tooth, not the other.)

By the way - do you know who you sent the email to? Are you still friends? (sorry)

I'm so sad right now and crying, that I can't enjoy reading about Barb getting plastered...

However, I don't care how much (non-existant) money it costs, I'm going to try my darnest to be in the house for the final performance. Even if I am unemployed and 7 hours away now.

I just don't know what else to say.

amanda, are you going? cause if you are, it will be your job for a 3 page review of it. lol. jk.

I am so sad. There was a thread today on the main board that got deleted say that DRS was closing labor day weekend. And people wanted to know where they got the info, but it got deleted before they said anything.

I want to make it, but I don;t think i can. maybe one more time this coming week, for old times sake.

Dre, there was some kind of "embargo" on the news; not all of the cast had been informed so they didn't want it posted until that happened. That's why the threads kept getting deleted.

Hell yes I'm going. Row B of front mezz. Once again, worth it for saving $30 and I actually think front mezz is my fav place to sit at DRS.

Anyway, you know you're getting a 3-page review, whether it's my job or not :-P

oh, no I can't believe that DRS is closing. But WHYYYY...okay there is no John nor Norbert, Joanna, GREGGGG but still...it's a great show.

If I had the oportunity I would go and see it but I just CAN't, damn it.
Norbert Leo Butz quotes about John Lithgow: "He's really clumsy. One of the joys in life is to watch a great big huge man totally wipe out backstage. It takes John about three minutes to hit the floor. It's like watching a Great Sequoia falling gracelessly."
