I'm heading off to camp tomorrow! If anyone is feeling the urge to write a letter or five my address is as follows:
Julia Bates
PO Box 829
Brevard, NC 28712

Any stalkers who frequent this thread are welcome to figure out what camp that is and come stalk me--- our director will throw you all the way to China when she finds you though! Greg Jbara Love Thread Part 5: Keeping the love for our true prance alive!

But really, I'll be there for a month and any sort of mail is appreciated! (Thanks for last year's letter Barb!!! It was the first letter I got all session!)

And Dre, I thought me going to college in the fall was weird, but having peers consider marraige is just... crazy.

Hi, gang!
Far as people I graduated with, I'm sure some of the gals, like me, are at least pre-menopausal. I've been hot-flashing like crazy lately!

Julia, I hope you have a great time at camp this year!

Anyhoo ... be sure to check out the official EXIT SPEED movie site.
Greg plays Yarbro ... the movie site has several pics with him.

x's and o's to all,
Barb

thanks guys.

it just fels weird. I mean, I have known here like my entire life. It just seems weird. but life goes on. I mean, why should I freak out. Both my parents were 22 when they got married and had me when they were 24.

thinking about that freaks me out a little though.

have fun at camp Julia!

I love how there are no closes up of Greg. But the pics look awesome! Excited about the movie!

I saw it at midnight too. It wasn't bad. Lots of funny parts. But the movie didn't really develop the characters that well. I mean, I guess the director just assumed that everyone would know them from the other movies, which is not the best way to look at making a movie. What sucks is that it is the shorteset of all the movies, but the book is the longest. Also, the scenes just seemed to be clips of longer ones, and they left out a lot of detail, some of which I thnk would have been important.

Hi all!

I have seen Harry Potter too and now I am reading the book!
Although it's not that great as J. K. Rowling said because someone will die who I like the most... anyway.
How is everyone??

Hey annie!

get ready to cry cause more than one character dies. It's really sad. I think she did a great job with the book.

Hello all. This is really strange - but I've been feeling melancholy about this thread and the old cam and Greg and all and I spent a big part of this morning looking at the cam pics on Greg's site and reading some of our original threads. Now here you are! I do hope you are all well and happy and the heat isn't getting you down!

that's awesome! I'm glad you really like Leaglly Blonde. It is a great musical. And so jealous that you saw Jason Gillman as the father! Love him! And that was so nice of Noah. awww! and you're right, andy karl is so hot!

well, just finished my internship today. Might be on a little bit more than I have been. espeically since I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to that.

But I did get my Equity membership candidate card in the mail a few days ago!! woot! And I'm going to apply for an internship at the Old Globe Theatre in CA next summer, where I hope the premiere of Catch Me If You Can will be playing at that time. Jack O'Brien (artisitc director there, DRS director, and director of this show) is a god!!

it;s in process. I got to work another 40 weeks on shows (usually a show not on broadway lasts 8 weeks with rehearsals). This past one I was lucky, I got 10 points cause it was extended at the beginning then it extended for one more week at the end. lot of fun!

yeah for Annie!

Julia, I could theoretically, when I get enough experience, work on Broadway as an assistant stage manager or stage manager or get my big break and work as a actor (stage managers and actors have the same union). So, who knows?

and belonging to the union, I would pretty good benefits and 411K and all that jazz.

edit: sorry if I am be incoherent. I just got my wisdom teeth out yesterday under local anesthetic. right sid is stilla littl swollen.

Aw I love when this thread resurfaces, i was rooting for joe cassidy to be in "next to normal" aka the poor mans name for feeling electric, but with d'arcy in it and cassidy in this i suppose everyone wins.

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

You all know how much I was hoping Joe would be in Feeling Electric, but I too am thrilled he got this part.

And...I've been meaning to post this here, just never got around to it. Sorry, I'm kind of gonna bring the thread down a bit. See, I'm moved into a new house/apartment in Boro Park, Bklyn. Signed the lease on my birthday. Two of my friends moved in with me at the time. Everyone I'm living with goes to my school, all guys, it was gonna be awesome. A couple days later, the 3 of us went to my house and the next day, moved all the furniture and stuff here. The next day one of my friends went out, and didn't come back. The next day. Or the next. He left his phone here, so we were worried, but not going out of our minds or anything.

Finally, 4 days later, we received awful news: he jumped in front of a subway train and had been in the hospital ever since. He survived though, which is honestly pretty miraculous. His skull was fractured, so they weren't positive that there'd be no brain damage. His face is pretty banged up, he needed machines to breathe. But he looks better everytime we visit him. They performed a surgery to insert a tube into his neck to breathe, so his face isn't all covered in machines. And last time we were there, he was aware at one point, one of our friends was talking to him about everyone who was there...only one eye was open, and I was on the side with his eye that wasn't open, but when she said "Amanda's over there" he kind of sat his head up to look at me, so we knew he was aware. I was also rubbing his hand, and then he opened it and grabbed mine. It took everything in me to not cry right there and then. At least he, you know, understands us and knows who we are.

So, it's been a pretty rough...little over a week. But Broadway world has certainly been a help. I saw Adam and Anthony in rent the night before we found out, and yeah, words can't describe how amazing it was. We sat front row, center mezz, which I've decided are the best seats in Rent. My internships are going well, Sara is actually involved with something we're doing at one of them, so I saw her again and I'll be seeing quite a bit of her in the next week or so, so that's good. And had an awesome day yesterday, with my other internship, set up an interview with what ended up being the entire sweeney tour cast, so we went down to their rehearsal studio, and unfortunately, it won't air till october, but watch out for that, it was absolutely awesome. Something I needed, heh, half the cast knew/remembered me. Then I saw Xanadu for the third time last night, 2nd time on the stage. I FING LOVE THAT SHOW.

Meeting the family soon for Curtains. So I'm getting through, doing what I can. But it's been a rough August so far. Glad this thread is back, I've missed you guys.

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
