Ummm...I'm not sure what exactly was happening but is there a reason, Heath and Jake couldn't make it through introducing Brokeback without laughing and acting like as*holes?
I'm not sure but I think I'm a little offended.
Heath spent the whole time seemingly adopting an effeminate pose with his hand on his hip and neither one of them could make it through a line without giggling...what the f**K?
I think Heath was trying to act cool to cover up his nerves, and then just ended up looking like an awkward idiot. It's not a secret that he gets *really* nervous.
My take, anyway.

They seemed a little drunk, that's all.
That as well!
it just seems like in the interviws they've given over time, they've both done their best to prove to the media and press that they're straight...that display just made it look a bit disrespectful to the work they'd done and the community as a whole.
Awww, it was cute. I thought they were laughing because of the cheesyness of the script.

They're totally gay. You can't bring that level of realism and accuracy to such a masterpiece of a movie without knowing EXACTLY whereof you speak. I understand they begin all discussions with each other with "Girlfriend...."
Yeah, cut them some slack-they did their job and it appears they did it well. You want blood? (ewwww).
omg how many has brokeback won?
and camthom who is that in your icon

No love for BM at the SAG awards, though.
Bso, who are you admonishing?

Oh no, didn't BM win EVERYTHING?
I loved BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN and I think it's a wonderful artistic accomplishment, but I gotta say I don't like how Jake (and to a lesser extent, Heath) have been promoting it...or rather, how they have been asked to promote it by their publicists.

I was in the lounge of my dorm and could hear them speaking...and since they kept doing those giggly pauses...I really expected them to make out at the end...
but that was just me hoping...so I rushed in there and caught the tail end of it...
alas...didn't make out.
dammit.

I don't think it won anything.
I thought they were commenting on the ridiculous introduction they were forced to read. Who wrote that crap, Dean Koontz?
LOL Sueleen, you're on a Dean Koontz tirade!
NOTHING????????????????????????????
omg the sag guild is raceist not giving brokeback every award raceist i say
Sorry, I should clarify: I don't have a problem with how they're promoting the movie (I think the marketing campaign is genius and has proved very successful). I'm just tired of Ledger and Gyllenhaal feeling the need to reassert their heterosexuality and talking about whatever small discomfort they had "playing gay" as if it's completely okay, and not a product of their internalized homophobia.
Basically, I'm saying I wish they'd just grow up a bit, suck it in and take it like a man.
he he he those of us that have seen BM knows that jake has no problem doing that.

Thanks for clarifying, BW. I figured you meant something like that. It seems to be more an issue for heterosexual males than it does females, doesn't it? You don't see Felicity Huffman scrambling to point out that her vagina isn't man-made.

They should take a page from the gifted actor Patrick Stewart who handled questions about playing gay in the film of Paul Rudnick's "Jeffrey" with skill and aplomb.

::ahem:: it's "racist."
Anyways. Will they be replaying the SAG anytime soon?
Kringas - I'm not admonishing anyone...as much as the idea.
(Good looking) men in Hollywood always get called gay at some point in their career. Doesn't help when you are single and just finished shooting the token gay movie of the year*. You gotta hetero it up full time. Is there something wrong with that? Maybe. But don't blame the actors - blame the tabloids, etc.
*I couldn't think of anything else to say other than token gay movie of the year.
::ahem:: it's "racist."
Thatis the correct spelling but incorrect word. The Guild wasn't racist here.
