Even if I did vote, it would not be for this loser. His name sounds like he lives in the Ozarks making moonshine.
If you base who you vote for on what their name sounds like it is better that you stay out of the polling booths.
Actually, when I think of people who are proud of not voting I think of some moonshine making Ozarkian.

You do realize Roxy that your classist crack makes you an automatic member of what your free speech buddy HDThoreau2 calls a "Manhattan elitist," don't you?

"I feel homosexuality is an aberrant, unnatural, and sinful lifestyle, and we now know it can pose a dangerous public health risk," Huckabee wrote in the questionnaire for The Associated Press, which reported the answer on Saturday.

There was still too much confusion about HIV transmission in those early years.
In 1991? Bullshit.
They taught me in fifth grade how HIV could and could not be transmitted. And that was in 1988.

And there are people considering voting for this guy?! I feel like I should be rallying in the streets for his imprisonment or something. But, there I go again, being a naive young liberal...

Looks like the dragon hath awoken. Not very lucid, though, huh? Is that last line some kind of political-deadbeat code the rest of us aren't supposed to get?

Dragon? Please. Wererat on its best day.
And I suppose that was some sort of "war on Christmas" shot, albeit anemic as usual. Both are secular songs, one of which never even mentions the C-word.

Nah, I'm not fond of that. 'The three-toed sloth?"
"The ruffled grouse"?
"THe fruit fly"?

The Hucksterbee is pack peddling like crazy today.
"Transcript:
CHRIS WALLACE: As you rise in the polls, I don’t have to tell you that your past is becoming more of an issue.
It now turns out that when you ran for the Senate back in 1992, you called for quarantining AIDS patients, you opposed increased federal funding to find a cure, and you also said that homosexuality was a, quote, sinful lifestyle that could pose a dangerous health risk.
Do you stand by any of that now, Governor?
MIKE HUCKABEE: Chris, I didn’t say that we should quarantine. I said it was the first time in public health protocols that when we had an infectious disease and we didn’t really know just how extensive and how dramatic it could be and the impact of it, that we didn’t isolate the carrier.
Now, the headlines yesterday started saying that I called for quarantines, which if you’ll go back and read my comments, I did not.
I had simply made the point, and I still believe this today, that in the late ’80s and early ’90s, when we didn’t know as much as we do now about AIDS, we were acting more out of political correctness than we were about the normal public health protocols that we would have acted — as we have recently, for example, with avian flu, which — I spent hours and hours, and months, in fact, as a governor dealing with a pandemic plan that we were looking at which called for isolating carriers if they contracted that disease.
WALLACE: But, Governor, forgive me. I don’t think that’s right. All the way back in 1985, this wasn’t political correctness. The Centers for Disease Control back in ‘85, seven years before you made your statement, said that AIDS could not be spread by casual contact."

Update from this piece of $hit hatemonger!
Huckabee Won't "Recant" His Call For AIDS Quarantine
This morning on Fox News Sunday, former governor Mike Huckabee acknowledged that he previously advocated quarantining AIDS patients, but said he would not "recant" from that position.
In 1992, Huckabee wrote, "If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague."
This morning, Huckabee first tried to deny his comments. "Chris, I didn't say that we should quarantine," he said. In fact, he said we "need[ed]" to isolate AIDS patients.
Pressed repeatedly by host Chris Wallace, however, Huckabee relented. "That is exactly what I said. I don't run from it, I don't recant from it. Would I say it a little differently today? Sure, in light of 15 years of additional knowledge and understanding, I would."

I know my hopes have been significantly lowered over the years, but I can't believe I find myself wondering if it's just too much to ask that the United States of America not have a president who hates science?
There's so often hand-wriging, or at least lip-service paid, over the notion that this country's education system is not preparing students to be strong components of the global community and I just don't see how a cultural norm set by a president (even if he doesn't directly set national policy) doesn't have a trickle down effect.
You know, the Grand Canyon was NOT caused by Noah's flood and the earth is NOT fewer than 6000 years old. That there are people who not only dispute facts such as these is discouraging enough, but that such people are elected and influence the discourse in this country is alarming and really does set the stage for a US that not only does advance its own knowledge, but impedes the advancement of the civilization of humanity.
Barring the individual outrages of a man like Hucakbee, and putting aside the "sport" (or even the "science," if you will) of political campaign-running and election-winning, how could anybody in good conscience walk into an election booth and vote in favor of his ilk?

People need to question him more...
'Mr. Romney, Just how old IS the planet Earth?'
'Mr. Romney, How WAS the Grand Canyon formed?'
Etc. I think it would just be the last nail in his coffin. If he answers the way his 'faith' tells him to, he'll come off as a complete loon.

Huckabee has made a number of public statements that have drawn criticism, including comparing his weight loss to the experience of a concentration camp.
