HUCKABEE WANTED TO ISOLATE AIDS PATIENTS

I guess looking back Jesus should have relocated all the sick and those disgusting lepers like what Huckabee wants to with those who gots the AIDS.

As a candidate for a U.S. Senate seat in 1992, Huckabee answered 229 questions submitted to him by The Associated Press. Besides a quarantine, Huckabee suggested that Hollywood celebrities fund AIDS research from their own pockets, rather than federal health agencies.

"If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague," Huckabee wrote.

"It is difficult to understand the public policy towards AIDS. It is the first time in the history of civilization in which the carriers of a genuine plague have not been isolated from the general population, and in which this deadly disease for which there is no cure is being treated as a civil rights issue instead of the true health crisis it represents."

The only problem with this is that a plague is an airborne problem. AIDS is not caught by breathing the same air. Isolation will achieve nothing.

This man is about as ignorant as HDT.

Since at least 1/4 of HIV infected individuals (in the U.S.) are undiagnosed and unaware they carry the virus, a quarantine without worldwide testing would be pretty ineffective.

Roxy, no one has asked you to give up your right to free speech, or your right to comment on a political topic. That's just you projecting. The fact that you don't vote, just makes your political statements pointless, and nothing but hot air, because you don't back them up with the single thing that would validate them, your vote.
