Extremists are so paranoid about efforts to make health care a public right, that they spit on and call anybody who supports the current bill, a Communist.
Needless to say, the obsession to kill the health care bill is so extreme, they did not even hesitate to steal the Massachusettes election in effort to create the false impression that people oppose the health care bill.
The work of Ted Kennedy will be vindicated tonight.
Remember to give Obama the credit he deserves, in November.
Stealing an election is not appropriate !

I prefer the puppet with the bulging eyes.
I care.
it will be interesting to see what the Republicans have up their sleeves today. If anything. On CNN this morning a Republican rep said after it was announced that the Dems had the votes to not be so sure this will happen. When asked what he meant he would only say that the Republicans are using every means to stop this vote today and that people just need to tune in to see what happens. This is crazy.
As we (My friends and I) have been saying through all of this, just follow the money trail and you will have most of your answers as to why the Republicans and some Democrats are against this.
I mean, I don't care what this cathy creature posts...
Sock puppets are a waste of time.

Martin Luther King said "that injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane."
I am pretty certain that Obama's health care plan will pass because republicn strategist, Castalliano, is on CNN and he says that the next election will not be about health care, it will be about the economy.
What a joke !
When it looked like the health care bill was dead in the water, Republicans were calling Obama a failure and they were saying that the next election would be about his inability to pass the health care bill.
I personally think that anybody who votes for any republican in November, is a fool {excluding the Governor of California, of course !).
cathycollie, please explain the health care bill. How much will it cost for the average citizen, and what will they get for it? thanks in advance.

It's not going to cost anything.
The system is so broken and so out of control, that it desperately needs reform, and this is just the beginning of the process.
Health care is a right that needs to be managed effectively, and this is just the beginning of a necessary process.
It is the failure to act, that will further bankrupt the mess that Obama inherited, there is no cost to being fair and reasonable.
Cath,
You'd be better off just telling us who you were before your Cathy screen name.
Meanwhile, we all look at you as a sock.

Sort of with this look on our face.
"It's not going to cost anything."
Everyone will be required to buy health insurance. I'm asking you how much it will be and what will be provided.
You didn't give one specific.

Nothing is ever free -I don't have specifics.
The point is, it will be cheaper than it would have without this bill because it will be more affordabl for everybody.
Stupak is no bord, so it's a done deal !
Thank Ted Kennedy.

Thank You Teddie !
Just pointing out that you don't know the first thing about that bill. No one does. This goes across party lines.

True enough.
But health reform just won, and that's a good thing.
REJOICE !

While I don't know every detail, I feel like I know plenty. This is a minimal, but significant set of reforms, which will make it difficult for insurers to drop or deny coverage. It does little to drive down the cost of healthcare for most of us in the short run; hopefully, a public option will follow in the near future to address that. This bill will make healthcare accessible to almost all Americans, and that is a major achievement for this administration. I also feel very strongly that once this bill in enacted, and the general public gets better informed of what is (and isn't) in it, it will be something that will greatly benfit the Democrats.

It will help everybody.
I'm not the only one who is frustrated by the lack of information put forth about this bill. No one knows one specific about it. No one here does, at least.
Cathycollie, first you said it isn't going to cost anything, then you said nothing is free. Make up your mind.

It's complicated.
When it's going to cost less than it's costing now, it almost feels like free.
Some of the short term effects of the bill:
Insurers will no longer be able to drop or deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions. I believe this is immediately effective for children, and becomes effective in 90 days for adults. In six months, adults will be able to keep children on their family policies up until age 26 (current age is 23). Longer term, in 2014 the 'health exchanges' will be available, which is the primary instrument in this bill to address cost.
While it may be difficult to weed out the good information from the bad, there is plenty of information available about the bill.

Great and necessary changes.
Republicans are ignorant buffoons for opposing this reform.

This isn't a one-party issue. CC, have you read anything regarding the health debate at all? Honestly, you sound completely ignorant.
You're so right, Kelzama. I don't believe she knows the first thing she's talking about.
I think someone here is in desperate need of some health care...
As far as it costing less, you will be in for a rude awakening.
Many doctors will retire rather than take a smaller reimbursement. Add to that more people being seen by less doctors so you do the math & what you will get.
My wife met with her companies insurance representative Friday & was told this year the cost increase would be minimal but if the bill passed next year the increase would be huge. If an insurance company will have to treat pre existing conditions, the healthier will have to pay higher premiums to offset this cost.
To all those who wanted the plan passed, as Bette Davis said in "All About Eve" "Fasten Your Seatbelts etc.". Be careful what you wish for as you may get it.
There may very well be a Democratic bloodbath come November. Now Mr Obama can ram more of his agenda down our throats .
