What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?

One is an actual breed of dog and the other is a vague, clumsy attempt at classifying a disparate group of people based solely on a child's after-school activities, concocted by political pundits who have a 24-hour news cycle to fill but don't want to do any actual analysis or reporting.
