1. Who are these gay guys claiming everyone is gay??? Is it cause I'm over 21 and living in NYC that I don't run into these people??? I mean...come ON!
2. Rodney...those aren't personal attacks. 'Choke on my f*cking c*ck, a**hole' is...and it's one of my personal faves. I've used it on this board, even. And I believe it was to you! Funny that.
3. Nothing left to say...just like to do things in three's. It's funnier that way.

"'Choke on my f*cking c*ck, a**hole'"
I KNOW I have not said that to anyone on this board.
Find the post to prove that one.

I have a question (or four)...why does sexuality have to be seperated? Is it safe to say that a majority of my fellow heterosexual men have had some sort of homoerotic notion about another male? Does that make you gay or just more secure in your heterosexuality? I mean, I for one have no problem getting into discussions about who the hottest male actor in film is...or what sports star is most attractive. It freaks some of my friends out...but why is that? Do they think I'm turning gay or are they afraid I continue to do that, they might too?
So...here goes nothing. I'm a theatre loving, completely open-minded, cosmopolitan magazine reading (which apparently also makes me "queer as a 3 dollar bill"?) male...think of me what you will.
God bless all homosexuals for having the strength and conviction to make it through all the red-tape and criticism. The entire world could learn alot from you.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 3:31pmI thought everyone knew that homophobia indicates latent homosexuality. I can't count how many times I've said, "Well, you know what homophobia really means" to the guys on my bus that accuse everyone of being gay.

I was gonna try to clarify...but if one can't read, then it's not my problem.
No child left behind, indeed.

What questions? It seemed rhetorical! What would you like an opinion on, Guido. I'll be glad to give one!

As I've said before, most people don't fall at the far ends of the Kinsey scale. Most of us are straight or gay, with a few instances of homo or heteroeroticism. True middle-of-the-road bisexuals and people who are completely and totally gay or straight are the rarest of creatures.
This is one of those cases where "the lady doth protest too much" has some validity. People who are afraid of the homosexual tendencies they see in themselves may feel like they have to "prove" their goodness by showing how straight they are. And what better way to do that then to bash gays for all they're worth?

Guido,
I'm afraid I can't answer most of those questions, since they seem to be about getting inside the mind of straight men.
As for 'gay being separated', I'm not sure what you mean. Are you referring to choosing to identify as gay? Labeling yourself?
#39re: Homophobia as Indicator of Latent Homosexuality
Posted: 10/5/04 at 4:00pmy'know it's not so much gay being seperated...as wondering why we so often have to seperate gay from straight. I don't know the truth on it...but I've come to believe some times men do have gay tendencies they refuse to admit to or confess to having. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?

Posted: 10/5/04 at 4:37pmIn some cases - such as a close relative of mine - homophobia can be the result of narrowly escaping being molested by some guy in a shopping mall restroom when you were 14.
#44re: Homophobia as Indicator of Latent Homosexuality
Posted: 10/5/04 at 4:43pmthere's always an exception where someone has a concrete reason to be "phobic"...but most times it's just a refusal of acceptance or admittance of fear.

RobbieJ--
I'm that 'gay guy claiming everyone is gay.' At least those on BWW. Lord knows, if you can't appreciate theater, i don't want you to be or care if you're gay.
You may have run into my online attempts to save the BWW woman by stating (in CAPS)--'THERE AREN'T ANY STRAIGHT MEN ON BWW' Do I truly believe that? Yep,i do! Most of our 'straight' boys are quite young on BWW. Give them time, give them time...
You can only watch Raul Esparza sing or Hugh Jackman's chest hair glisten so many times before you tip over that line...

#48re: Homophobia as Indicator of Latent Homosexuality

I don't think that it's fair to say that we're all gay Midtown. Everytime you say that it really bothers me, because it's an unfair assessment.
PS- Thanks robbiej, I think.
