I think this looks great. My wife and I already watch Grey's and Scandal, though it's often hard to find the time with a little one. I told her last night that we were going to have to figure out how to add another hour to our TV time!

I've seen some extended clips of the show, and it's very compelling.
I'll look forward to viewing the full pilot next week.

Posted: 5/15/14 at 5:24pmViola Davis can make almost anything seem compelling, and Shonda Rhimes knows how to write a good hook. I just hope it doesn't feel like a SCANDAL retread. I'm definitely in.

I so wanted to call it LEGALLY BLACK, but felt that may be a bit too edgy for the BWW peeps.

Well, considering ABC also has a show entitled "Black-ish", probably not too edgy!

Posted: 5/15/14 at 7:34pmI'm in. ABC is making Thursday "Shonday". Greys at 8, Scandal at 9, Murder at 10.

Posted: 5/15/14 at 9:41pmI didn't know Alfie Enoch was in this too. He's certainly doing well in the post-Potter years.
Wanting life but never knowing how

Posted: 9/25/14 at 11:14pm.... Wow... To me, that was riveting. Viola is a powerhouse, and the show does an admirable job at keeping up with her.

Consider me in. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but when Viola isn't on screen I'm longing for her to come back.
However, the supporting boys aren't bad to look at.

Posted: 9/25/14 at 11:34pmMy feelings, as well! I know a big subplot will be the "I know what they did last summer" between the four of them, but while that was interesting and I was surprised by who the body was, I kept wanting Viola to come back. She has such a presence, even when she's not there.
#13Get Away with Murder
Posted: 9/26/14 at 12:26amI found it entertaining. Viola is impossible not to watch, and I like the campy tone of it (is there ANY law 100 class anywhere even slightly like that?) I admit I was even annoyed that they never bothered to really explain what really happened with the "episode of the week" trial -- but at the same time, if they had, it would become more like any other procedural. I've been burned on a few shows that have the whole flashforward/flashback murder mystery thing though (Revenge, anyone remember Reunion, etc?) so I hope this show has some story idea of where to go after that...
#14Get Away with Murder
Posted: 9/26/14 at 12:32amI'll be interested to see how much back story we get of supporting characters.
#15Get Away with Murder
Posted: 9/26/14 at 1:00amI assume quite a bit? otherwise, I have no idea how they can fill 22 episodes with the main story (assuming it's meant to play out through the season.)

Posted: 9/26/14 at 1:36amIt had way too much going on, but I loved it! It was very interesting and Viola Davis was everything!! She SLAYED that role! I'm mad that I figured out who was in the carpet 30 minutes before they revealed it. It ruined the fun for me.

I enjoyed it as well. Can't wait to see what happens. I've learned in Shondaland that not everything is always as it seems.
I didn't think too much of the guys because I was too busy looking at Karla Sousa. :)

It should be pointed out that Shonda is just a co-exec producer here. Peter Nowalk (who Variety felt the odd need to identify as both white and openly gay,) who has written for her other shows and, for a few years, was head of story for Grey's is the creator and showrung.
*edit* oh you said ShondaLand which is her production company--so fair enough. I just find it interesting that so many reviews (including the controversial New York Times one) have said that Shonda is the creator and showrunner -- then again, that's how it's being advertised.

My boyfriend and I watched it last night and we both loved it. Lots of twists and reveals, but all leading to the main reveal.
I love Liza Weil, but I do not like her new hair.
and HELLO Charlie Weber!

Couldn't quite get into it. Will try another episode to see if it catches me the next time.
Viola is great but the whole thing seemed... forced.
Like that "baby excuse". Viola is just under 50 in real life and the character is almost the same age to have built up such a persona- ( top criminal lawyer AND University Prof) Little late in the day for the baby game.
It's like a pair of shoes that technically fit but still pinch. Looks good but not enjoyable.

Posted: 9/26/14 at 1:21pmI loved it, but I can tell you that the law school part is over the top fiction!

It killed in the ratings:
"How to Get Away With Murder," the new legal thriller starring Viola Davis, made off with an impressive 14 million viewers on average in its debut. If ratings hold, that makes it the most-watched TV show, even including CBS' "Thursday Night Football."

To be fair, nobody expected a realistic depiction of law school from these producers :P

I still expected that to be a fake out just to make sure the guy kept quiet--I guess it still could be.
