Yeah, they are voted that because they're always hiring and they have a scholarship program for employees... that's all fine and dandy, but I like the people I work for to be able to remember when I request time off. I told them four weeks in advance and they still scheduled me! And they have done this before.

Well, the cast list for Annie Get Your Gun FINALLY came up! And... I got in!!! I get to play the Queen of France and an ensemble member, so I'm REALLY thrilled. I don't think the Queen has any lines, but I'll probably get a cool costume, and the guy who plays the King of France is fun.

(And I got all of my work done, too-- but I skipped breakfast AND lunch today to do my work, so I just ate a bowl of cereal and a tortilla with hummus right now to make up for it. ^_^)

Wegmans (ducks and runs from withoutlove) has the BEST roasted red pepper hummus in their olive bar.

danmag and Henry (via StockardFan) - feel better! Unless you already do, in which case YAY!

Maisie and Schmerg - congratulations on opening and being cast, respectively! Plus those pictures are stunning, Maisie!

withoutlove - I hear you on the job thing! If I didn't get to spend so much time reading books (and messing around online when the boss isn't in), this job would have killed me months ago! As it is, it just drives me into despair. :3

Shannon, blondebaby, and clever - I have nothing specific to reply to here, I just wanted to say howdy! :3

Sooo the play I'm directing will finally be over in a little over a week. I'm getting pretty fed up of it, we're really behind when it comes to costumes, and I'm just so damn BORED of it! I know I will inevitably forget the boredom and be hankering to direct again before long, but I suspect it will be QUITE some months before I do!

The move has been going fairly swimmingly. Until I have more shelving, I can't move any more of my belongings from my parents' house to my new house, so I'm pretty static at the moment. I'd KILL for internet though; I NEED to catch up on and finish Battlestar Galactica before the whole thing is ruined for me forever, and I miss this thread so much even if you do keep going off onto boozy tangents that leave me smiling and nodding vaguely on the sidelines until we get back onto boys and/or periods. ;D

Speaking of boys, I hadn't realised just how restful my lack of social life was until recently! I met a really cute guy on the tube - just my type; tall, facial hair, brown eyes, great smile - and we had a great geeky chat about comic books and movie adaptations of. OF COURSE HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND. XP I've been kinda kicking myself ever since for semi-switching off once he revealed his status. What if he was looking to trade her in for a geekier model? At the very least, I could've made a new friend and that would've been great too. Hindsighted vision bugs me. XP Also, the great unrequited crush of my life is in town this weekend, so OF COURSE I've agreed to meet him for tea (this is England, we don't do coffee so much XD). I'm looking forward to seeing him, of course, I just don't in my head think it's necessarily the greatest idea. XD

Guys suck. I've always said I'd never let my sexuality stand in the way of what could turn out to be a great relationship, but if I don't fix my inability to healthily relate to men soon, I'm going to have to start actively seeking out girls instead of merely leaving myself open to the possibility. XD

Anyway! Should be getting my kitty soon, which is a nice thought, and I'm off to see Spring Awakening in the West End after work this evening, so life's certainly not too terrible. :3 Love to you all!

He'd have to be completely stupid not to know I like him like that, but alas, having a serious girlfriend means if he does have enough of a brain to have noticed, nothing'll ever happen. *sigh* Well, at least if they're attached, there's a chance they might come unattached in the future, right? Whereas if a man's gay, ain't NO amount of wishing a gal can do to fix that! So it's not *quite* the most hopeless crush I've ever had. Pretty darn close though. XD

So, I have a short, stupid story:

A few months ago, I wrote a fan letter to Norm Lewis and enclosed a self-addressed, stamped envelope. It's been awhile, so I assumed I wouldn't get anything back. Today, I got a self-addressed stamped envelope in the mail, and I started screaming and jumping up and down.

I ripped it open...and it was a letter from National Honor Society informing me about what day the induction ceremony is. It's on my birthday.

Schermg, congratulations! The Queen of France will be fun...the European Tour is by far my favorite part of the show! And RE: the National Honor Society...that's no fun, I'm sorry babe! Is it MANDATORY to go to the ceremony? I was in NHS and I don't think I ever went to one of those because I always had rehearsal for a show or something.

Weez, I hope tea goes well for you...boys can be so dense sometimes. But you're right, girlfriends aren't permanent at all. And maybe it'll be like a movie, where they dramatically break up and he realizes that all he ever wanted was right under his nose. I honestly wouldn't question you for a minute switching to chicks though. We're obviously smarter and so much better-looking than they are. Otherwise, glad to hear your move is still going well!
