OMG me and danmag are both Philly girls, I could totally watch GG with her hubby! Now we've just gotta get you up here...
Oh yes. He claims to watch it for the mocking factor, but I know he really is loving it...
I'M totally embarrassed that I watch The Real World and my teenager is not even remotely interested. When we are scrolling through our DVR'd shows to watch, I try and scooch by the episodes really fast cuz Im all feelin' stupid that I watch it.
It's okay clever. My mom watches The Hills and The City even though she doesn't have me or my sister living at home anymore.
So do I, BB!
When I was still at home I'd giggle at the DVR because my mom's stuff would be The Hills, Rock of Love, America's Next Top Model, etc. And all my shows would be stuff from Discovery Health LOL
We are a very immature generation, BB. I'm assuming you're mom is around my age.
She's 51, so she's a little older than you danmag.
Yes! My dad (I know I know) is 52 and he LOVES shows like Runs House and Rock of Love!
LOL! Now I don't feel so bad! I also watch ATM but I can talk my daughter into watching that one. She got me into Dimitri Martin...OH and Degrassi.. she got me totally hooked!! and now she doesnt like it with the new people and I'm still DVRing it.haha!
Clever LOL! My sons love watching Dimitri Martin - I think it's probably totally inappropriate for them, but there are some battles I've given up on...
Break somethin Maisie!
I'm gonna do my nightly pilates ritual and then make some dinner!
Have fun in another round of Beauty and the Beast, Maisie!
Pianolin, I know Virginia boringness! I live up in northern Virginia, where everything is so uniformly, scarily, sterotypically suburban, that driving through Fredericksburg is like a Vegas-style sensory overload. (Also, we have a special barbershop quartet song called "Eat At Joe's" that my family always sings whenever we pass Joe's Crab Shack.) But at least D.C.'s only twenty minutes away!
DC is such a cute city! I considered moving there for a day, but then realized I'd missy the dirtiness of Philly waaay too much.
Well I sit and watch Drake and Josh and iCarly even when Henry isn't home.
I lost interest in Gossip Girl pretty early on, and I haven't seen The Real World in ages though.
Ha, I will always love Drake and Josh...
Today in my chorus class, we watched "High School Musical 3" for no apparent reason. I had to pretend I didn't like it.
Hahahahaha.. I will pretend Schmerg that you said Fredericksburg is exciting. But yeah, VA is beautiful... in the mountains, but thats only for a visit, I could never live there.
OH! And Schmerg, I am glad you said you had to PRETEND you didn't like it... It is, I admit, my favorite of the 3 films, although I hate that British Girl. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE "I Want It All"
There I said it! I like Ashley Tisdale's song in the movie!
But yeah, if you can, go to college outside of VA! Grrr, once I graduate I am gone from here!
You girls were chatty today!
lusicous - oh my god. Thank you for that. That picture is hilarious. I hope his rock and roll fantasy involves him answering some important questions for me, such as how he could have let Heather, the most amazing woman ever, get away. And why that chick in the "Every Rose" video looks eerily like Slash.
For all you Virginia peeps...I actually really like NOVA. I'm not from there obviously, but I've visited it more times than I can count (two close friends live there). Super nice area, and the people aren't overly snobby. I've also considered moving to DC, but I think I would miss the Detroit area too much. Where else can you cross a street and suddenly go from the most ghetto ass area in the country to upper middle-class million dollar homes? Even better, if you go a little further out you get to the rednecks and trailer parks and meth labs. Possibilities! Besides, I don't want to give up living down the street from Kid Rock.
clever, Degrassi rocks. I love every incarnation of that show and own them all on DVD. The Next Generation has been turning me off lately, though. Other than that, I watch just about everything on TV except for Grey's Anatomy. I can't handle that one. My mom also loves ANTM, Rock of Love, all that. The woman probably watches more TV than I do! My dad pretty much sticks to Law & Order and House.
And finally, tofu: so glad to see you back, but sorry to hear about the shoddy circumstances. I have friends who come from similar family dynamics. It's always rough when you feel like you can't be completely honest with your family, and I hope that one day you can be. Good luck on getting out, babe!
ETA: I loved High School Musical 3. LOVED. And I'm older than you guys, so it's that much lamer. It's totally justified.

I haven't seen High School Musical 3 yet. The DVD is literally sitting right under my nose, but what with rehearsal after rehearsal after rehearsal, I'm not going to get to watch it until Saturday. Unless I want to stay up REALLY LATE tonight or tomorrow. I was loving the first one way back when it was new though, and not in an ironic way either. I think the reason I get on so well with kids is because I essentially *am* a kid on the inside. And I don't mean that in a "hoho, chortlechortle, I'm so young at heart!" way, either. I mean I genuinely enjoy watching the Disney Channel, and I have a favourite Jonas Brother. O_O
I can't quite work out if my Disney Channel favourite is The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (I've seen a DISTURBING amount of episodes for someone who never had the Disney Channel until last week and has never had kids) or Phil of the Future (Phil REALLY reminds me of my crush; mmmmm, Raviv Ullman... *drools*). I think Sonny with a Chance is rubbish, and Demi Lovato really can't act, but she's adorable, so I keep watching.
And then, when I'm not watching Disney Channel stuff, I'm watching Oz and The Thick of It, where neither series is thematically appropriate for younger teenagers and the obscenities fly thick and fast. I am a lady of contrast.
I'm also pleased to see Tofu back! Yay! Tofu, move to England! We have a recession too, but uh..... I'm getting a kitty! Yup! *nods!*
Pianolin you're in Fredricksburg? My sister lives near Garrisonville.
I haven't seen HSM3 yet. We have HSM1 on tivo and the DVD of HSM2. I prefer the first one, but Henry really likes the 2nd.
We don't do much Disney Channel here. Mostly Nick. Henry's actually been watching the Cartoon Network alot. He LOVES Tom and Jerry - cracks him up.
I love Rock of Love as well.
