You have to watch it, Stockard. I liked the first one only for the endearing lack of talent, hated the second one and thought the third was actually pretty well done. My friend and I went as a joke and were both totally embarrassed to admit afterwards that we loved it.
I didn't really like the second one. The characterisation - which was always Disney Channel Unsubtle - just got cartoonish, and the songs were presented as terrible music videos rather than numbers in a musical movie. Best thing about the second movie was the parody by Lin-Manuel Miranda, which makes me happy to even think of. :3
Will let you know my thoughts on the third one when I've seen it. I know you'll now all be waiting with bated breath!
Now I have Sharpay's "Fabulous" in my head.
Aww, looks like it's just me and Henry with the HSM2 love. I thought it was cute. I couldn't tell you a song from the whole thing, but I know I liked it. The first one I know the music TOO well because my daughter was in a prodution of it and played that music all summer. .oy!
I have to agree that I completely hated HSM2. I don't think there's a single song there that I liked.
But I loved the first (I even did a production, as Mrs. Darbus!), and I loved the third one as well. I think most of the cast is terrible-- with the exception of Lucas Grabeel, who really impresses me-- but the songs are catchy, and it's just beautiful to look at, with all of that choreography and beautiful costumes. But yeah, Lucas Grabeel really IS talented, and I even own his cheesy pop version of "Go The Distance" from Hercules...
Weez, I love Phil of the Future. But I can't stand that Keely girl with her mole. Eurgh. (I love Phil, though, even though he's so short. And I ADORE his evil little sister. She's fantastic.) But I think my favorite Disney channel show is The Emperor's New School-- I love Kronk so much. Sadly, there won't be any new episodes because of Eartha Kitt.
Stockard, oh no I am not in Fredericksburg. My best friend, well, urm, ex-best friend now lol, goes to college there, so last semester I went up a bunch, but I try to avoid it now if I can
And I actually liked the 2nd one. I loved Music in Me and Fabulous (but thats because I love Ashley Tisdale for some reason)
And as for Disney TV shows.. hmm, I love Thats So Raven. Hands down. HILARIOUS! Especially the musical episode
OH! and My 2 fav DCOMS are Quints and Halloweentown! LOVE THEM!
I just got back from our dress rehearsal....
OMG
We have a show!!! And it's good!!!
*does happy dance*
Our Danny just keeps getting more and more amazing (seriously he could play the role on Broadway!) and I nearly cried during "Worse Things" (our Rizzo does this Patsy Cline-like rendition... it's amazing!)!
After the curtain call I got all choked up (haha no pun intended) and told them that I was so proud of them!
Tomorrow is going to be amazing! I'll make sure to take a ton of pictures so you girls can see all my hard work!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuDisney Channel Original Movies are amazing...SO nostalgic. Right up there with Lifetime Original Movies. My favorites: Brink! (man, Erik von Detten was the **** back then), Genius (which they never, ever play), Motocrossed, Zenon (of course), and the best movie of all time...Johnny Tsunami. I've never been able to stand Quints or Halloweentown because that girl is so weird looking to me.
Lol I love Kimberly J. Brown! I totally forgot she was in both of those lol
But how could I forget Zenon! Zetus Lepedus! lol I love that!!!!!!!!
Oh, gosh, I never liked that movie for some reason. I don't know why. But I LOVE "Sky High," and whatever bizarre, trippy movie that was about the boy who turned into a merman after his thirteenth birthday. I only saw it once, but it's firmly embedded in my head.
Pianolin, did your ex-best-friend go to Mary Washington? That's one of the schools I've been considering, but when I visited, the people there seemed kind of aloof and not-so-friendly. I don't know, it's so inexpensive, I might just have to go there anyway.
Yeah, she goes there now
See, UMW is the place where the ppl go if they were rejected from UVA or William and Mary, so there are a BUNCH of snobs, and me and my best were super close and we had a blast, but after the first semester, all the ppl she called snotty and b*tches, she turned into one and then she just stopped talking to me, she lied to me a lot, and when I visited a few weeks ago, it was super awkward, and anyways, she was supposed to hang with me over her spring break. We decided on the thursday. Then, that afternoon she was like, how bout Friday. So Friday, when I am done at 11, I text her. At 2 she said she got home but needed to finish something but she would text me after she was done... I waited a week and a half and got no text. So, I emailed her a long email explaining EVERYTHING... I got a paragraph back that was thoughtless and emotionless so I have yet to speak to her since and that was a good two and a half weeks ago. Ok, long story short, the majority of ppl there are snotty and catty, but, there are some awesome people, like my friends Suitemate. She is adorable and nice as can be :)
and the campus is really pretty, but just beware! But if you go, and somehow my friend and I actually talk again, I can say hey!
OH! and I hope you applied to VCU! You should come here! (Thats where I go and I LOVE it! even though I still have to live at home)
Ahhh Schmergy I loved that one! Weird thing, a lot of the disney original channel movie actors ended up on some show called Undressed that used to air on MTV haha
OH! the mermaid one is called The Thirteenth Year! Sorry, went on a little rant and I forgot to mention that!
My problem with college is, I have to go somewhere that sounds impressive enough for my parents without being expensive or far away, because my parents have two other kids to pay for.
I only have a 3.5 GPA as of the end of my sophomore year (stupid math grades brought me down-- I'm literally a math idiot), but I should have at least a 3.7 unweighted by the end of junior year, and Fairfax County has a different grading scale where an A starts at 94% rather than 90%, so grades are lower here... plus my parents make me enter every academic contest and merit contest thing ever, so I have a lot of time-wasting accomplishments and awards and I'm in like a million honor societies. My PSAT scores were bizarrely high, so I'll probably be a national merit scholar, and I guess that means my SAT scores will be pretty good. I'm the least motivated student ever, but I guess on paper, I look accomplished.
So I don't think my parents would want me to apply to VCU, because I know someone who only had a 2.8 and got accepted. Plus, someone we know got mugged there last month! Problem is, my grades aren't good enough to apply to a really selective school, so it looks like UMW is one of the only schools that fits somewhere around there GPA-wise and is also inexpensive.
This is why I hate thinking about college!
Hmm, Our grading scale started at a 93 for an A instead of a 90. See, everyone thinks "OMG VCU IS IN RICHMOND WE WILL BE SHOT!" But, its pretty safe, and I hear of more people at JMU having things done to them than at VCU, but it all depends on what you want to do. UMW isn't really known for anything in particular I don't think. You might want to check out CNU. They are starting to become another UMW (Plus, at CNU the performing arts center is AMAZING and they get a bunch of tours and you can get cheap tickets as a student.) I have a friend that goes to CNU and the campus is nice and its a very good school. Check it out! I think you might enjoy it :)

Yeah, that's another one I was considering! I haven't visited it yet... the whole atmoshere sounds much more Schmergy-ish than UMW, from what I've heard! I've managed to keep from my parents that most kids at my school see CNU as a last resort, haha.
I mean, I'm a pretty ridiculous kid. Everyone at Mary Washington seemed serious and subdued. I'm pretty sure I'd feel like Elle Woods over there! (Agh, I guess I am Elle Woods! I want to go to a good school, but I'd look like an idiot!)
See, CNU USED to be the place where everyone went as a last resort, but they are really building it up and now its harder to get into. And at first, I thought you said that it looked like a resort instead of last resort but it looks like a beach resort kinda! lol But seriously, I am in love with the performing arts building. I go down to visit my friend there a bunch because of it! :)
Plus, someone we know got mugged there last month!
I wish that was the least of Temple's problems LOL people die in North Philly every day! My aunt offered to buy me a gun.
Holy smokes, that is scary!
I'm an overprotected little thing, I guess... I mean, I'm practically Amish. I'll be so clueless in college! ^_^
Tonight we had a big group of little kids from a local elem. school. They were so funny. When Katie came out in her yellow ball gown, they literally gasped. And when she and the prince kissed at the end, there was a collective "ewwwwwww'
Aww, that is hilarious! The first time I saw "Beauty and the Beast," when the dude finished singing this really incredible rendition of "If I Can't Love Her," there was this big collective awed silence just before the applause, and I was literally tearing up... and this tiny little girl behind me remarks loud and clear, "I think he's sad!"
Where are you going Maisie?
And for me, We did the Virginia Pre-Paid tuition plan, so whatever the average tuition was when we started paying (which was mid 90's, so it was dramatically lower) That is what we paid :) so I have 4 years of college paid for, all I have to do is pay for books and extra fees, and since we have it paid for, my parents are picking up that, so, I don't have to pay a dime. And also, since I came in with 16 credits, I might graduate a year early, who knows, but basically, since I won't be in debt leaving college, I am going to save money for a year and move to NY!

OMG Jag2 we are so on the same wavelength right now!! I think Brink! came out around 1998 (so I was 12) and you could have put my hand on a stack of King James Version bibles and I'd have sworn up and down that Erik von Detten was the hottest thing to walk the earth!!! I even thought the guy that played Val was hot, mainly because I loved his hair.
I actually used to watch that show Kids Incorporated on Disney, and that was when I fell in love with Jennifer Love Hewitt. ^_^ Then when she joined the cast of Party of Five with Neve Campbell...it was a wrap!!!
since I won't be in debt leaving college, I am going to save money for a year and move to NY!
I can barely afford living in Philly, I can't imagine attempting to live in New York LOL I'm jealous
Madcap, Congrats!!!! And btw, I LOVE that movie too, and its called 17 Again. I pretty much love all DCOMS
and BlondeBaby, we will see how NY goes, but I am pretty sure I will end up there. Its between NY, San Fran, Santa Cruz, or Seattle, and if I live in NY, it will most likely be in Queens like Betty Suarez!
