I Enjoy Being A Girl

Posted: 4/4/09 at 3:17pmI read half of the first one and threw it across the room. Granted, I'm not the target market, but Bella is one of the most annoying things ever. It makes me sad that teenagers don't have a better literary phenomenon to get into than this poo.

Posted: 4/4/09 at 3:17pmCharlotte Bronte... just the NAME makes me shudder. I could NOT get through Jane Eyre... it was PAINFUL! She spent 3 pages at least describing the curtains by the window that she read in... Ugh lol

Twilight is terrible in any incarnation, but it truly does benefit from a film adaptation, because it's just nice not to be inside Bella's ridiculously boring and unhealthy head. :3
Flip-flops are the devil's work. Anything that involves displaying toes to the world needs to be carefully considered, and anything that involves displaying the entirety of your toes - while painfully rubbing that patch in between two of 'em - will never find its way onto my feet.
I... don't really like toes. :3

Yeah, I actually liked the movie more than the book, because it added a little bit of humor and humanity to the terrifyingly unnatural-behaving characters.

AMEN! I mean, yes the writing is bad, and yes, the characters are unlikeable, but the real reason why I hate Twilight is that I'm DISTURBED by the way the fangirls behave. Why would anyone relate to Bella Swan? You'd have to have horrible self-esteem to WANT a smothering kind of relationship like she has with Edward... she treats him like a god without any flaws, which is disgustingly unhealthy. And the fangirls are even scarier, because they've devoted their lives to this boy who's not even real.

Posted: 4/5/09 at 7:58amWhoot! I bet you get lots of compliments on it, too! ^_^ Yeah, yellow's one of my colors, too, but I don't really own a lot of it. I wish I had more yellow shirts.

Well, Schmerg, if you have a debit or credit card (or could convince your parents to get it for you) go to shirt.woot.com anytime today and you can get the shirt! its $10 free shipping and they are American Apparel shirts (which are VERY VERY comfortable) but they also run a size small, so get a size bigger than normal I would suggest.
I cannot wait for this to come in the mail!!!

Ack, I've been MIA from this thread the past few days! Sorry, girls. Stuff is kind of insane right now, haha.
Anyway, Get Smart closes today. Le sigh. I'm gonna miss doing this show so much. Anyone wanna see a couple pictures from our backstage/cast antics?

Last night, a bunch of us went cosmic bowling and then drove around for a long time blasting "I'm on a Boat" by The Lonely Island and telling yo mama jokes. It was one of those spontaneous bonding moments that makes me so friggen' glad I do shows. Yay!

Posted: 4/5/09 at 12:24pmWoah! I love I'm on a boat! last night I was with a bunch of friends, and we always turn all of the lights out then put on a strobe light and dance and we strobed to "I'm on a boat" and all of the guys new every word. It was fantastic!

Hi Girls!! I'm back from the city! Man, the last 48 hours have been crazy!
I went to see the big high schools production of Aida on Friday night, and it was AMAZING! My best friends brother was Rademes, so I went with him and his parents... it was very fun (we took this funny picture https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?cropsuccess&id=1363320110#/photo.php?pid=30110152&id=1363320110 Gotta love the height difference!) but it was also sad because I won't see him again until sometime this summer
Then right after the show me and my friend drove to NYC so that I could get a good spot in line at the open call... got there at 6:30am and it was insane!! Line around the block! I waited in line for a while and started talking to one of the girls handing out numbers to get in... well, she told me that they probably wouldn't get to see everyone and that I should considering doing a video audition and sending it in. So I decided to do that! I'm glad I did because me and my friend got to go see In the Heights!! Man I love that show!
I had a fun trip, even if it wasn't what I was expecting!
Oh, and check out the new Avi... I <3 Robin DeJesus :-p
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu#3885I enjoy being a girl

It's actually a dress!
I have been a fan of Robin's since I first saw Camp, but ITH made me a even bigger fan!

Hey girls! You all narrowly avoided a really drunk message from me last night...when I stumbled in I was about to log on but my computer died on me. Lucky!
Cute pictures, VTG and Kels!
They freaking played "I'm on a Boat" at the club I was at last night...that song is ubiquitous. I'd be incredibly sick of it if I wasn't so loyal to Andy Samberg.

Posted: 4/5/09 at 3:06pmKillertofu-- I just watched The Bad Seed for the first time. Wow, I think I'm disturbed for life.

Whoa, I can't catch up. I just got back from brunch where I had 4 mimosas. A little tipsy.
So......Schmerg I LOL'ed at The Bad Seed disturbing you for life. It is a pretty creepy movie.
OK, so I have this friend from college. He used to date a good friend of mine. We always kinda thought he was gay though. So he moved away, yada yada, and through the grapevine we heard he finally came out. YAY! for him right? Well anyway, we just became FB friends, and he messages me and says he's married with 2 boys. Huh? So I go to his page and there are no pictures at all.
I mean is he lying to me? Why? I would be the last person to care if he is gay. Granted his page seems to be fairly new so maybe he just hasn't gotten around to adding pictures.
I'm very confuddled.

Stockard, that's so weird! I don't know if you should just call him out on it or not but that's very odd.
Schmerg, that movie is so creepy! I watched it when I was about 9 and I had nightmares.
Great pics, VTG and Kels! =]

My mom dated several gay guys... it makes me laugh lol

I'm betting most of us in this thread have dated several gay men!
Love all the pictures!

LOL, Piano. I didn't date him but my good friend did.
Anyway, I just got off the phone with one of my other friends who said she actually saw pictures of said children, so maybe the whole coming out thing was bogus.
Whatever....like I said I wouldn't care if he was. But if he's not? I guess he's not....LOL!

Posted: 4/5/09 at 4:31pmSee, why would someone fake their coming out? Lol thats ridiculous! But I just don't understand all these gay people not coming out until their 20's or saying they are bi for the longest time, its confusing!

Some people who got married and had kids and THEN came out of the closet still remain married, though. So you never know...
There is this one guy who I am one hundred percent CERTAIN is gay who always seems to try and flirt with me. What's heartbreaking about this kid is that he is extremely conservative politically and really, really religious. He's one of the most flamboyant people I know, but whenever some comment comes out of his mouth like, "Oh my god, Hugh Jackman is hot," he'll start stammering and cover it up like, "By hot, you know, I mean, he's really popular. He's one of the hot actors-- you know, he gets a lot of work." I've met his ex-girlfriend, and she agrees that he's one of the most stereotypically gay people she's ever met.

Posted: 4/5/09 at 4:33pmWeird, Stockard. If you all thought he was gay, though, and this supposed coming out didn't surprise any of you...maybe he's still closeted? Who knows!

Did you hear he was married to a *woman* with kids? I mean, I saw Six Feet Under, it's possible to be gay *and* married with kids.
Sounds like your grapevine may just have a loose wire somewhere. Either that, or there's something *very* weird happening!
