Oh, tofu, that sounds amazing. It's by no means gorgeous here, but it's warm enough. I'm not looking forward to starting my drive home on Thursday in flip flops and then switching to boots when I get there!
I have to find a way to meet up with all you girls sometime! I think I'm the only one in the midwest, so if I scrape up enough money eventually, except me to be contacting you all for a partay.
Hey, IAM! And welcome back, Shannon. You just missed silly conversation, nothing too exciting!
Jane - have you tried wearing a shoe with a wedge recently? I've had terrible back issues, and for the last few months I've only worn wedges (at my doctor's suggestion). One pair is by La Canadienne (so they're also warm and waterproof). They are black microfiber on a black rubber wedge - not glamorous, by any means, but they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn (and I love shoes, and buy too many, but also have somewhat wide feet and think that most shoes are uncomfortable).
Haha I'm going to have to go back and read all the pages I missed!
I feel so far away from everyone, I'm in Texas!
JAG2, I will be in Michigan for a week this summer, too.
Texas...probably not.

Holy jeez Shannon, Texas?! Good grief that's far!!!
Girls maybe we should start a pledge drive or something to fly Jag, Weez and Shannon to the undisclosed location. (And by undisclosed, I mean I don't even know!!)
*Alms for the poor, BWW? Alms?*
miss p, would love to meet you when you're in town, so please put me on the list for any gathering while you are here (I am sure it will be a big list)!
IAM-by wedge, do you mean like a platform, or do you mean your heel is higher than you toes, like wearing heels?
Shannon, good thing I have curly hair because I'm so not a girly girl that I could never spend time fussing with it.
Yeah, miss p.? Whereabouts?
I did get two free airline tickets from running up an absurdly high bill on one of my credit cards...and daddy has lots of frequent flier miles...
Oh, IAM, you are so sweet! I'll be in town the week of March 9. Let's plan something for then.
JAG2, I will be in East Lansing. (Woo hoo!)
Aw, that'd be so great if we all got together and met! But yes, compared to where everyone else is, I'm insanely far.
Also, I have a little bit of an accent, I'm definitely not a redneck haha (I live near Dallas). Although, I've been guilty of saying "y'all" often.
Ah, Michigan State! That's about an hour and a half away from me...I have tons of friends up there.
Jane - like this shoe (which is actually the comfortable, unglamorous one I mentioned).
miss p - look forward to seeing you then.
We're starting college tours with my daughter next weekend, so who knows where we'll end up visiting these next few months.

Shannon, everyone here in North Carolina says that I have an accent. I always get those "You ain't from 'round here are ya?" questions. Uhg!!
I'm originally from Maryland so I always thought my speaking voice was neither Northern (Boston, etc...) or Southern (Alabama) just more so middle of the road. But for whatever reason people here love to make fun of my "north accent" and the fact that I don't sound "black". Whatever the hell that means!!
Tofu, where in MD are you from?
JAG2, I have another friend who's about an hour away (in Saline), so we always get together with her when we're there. An hour-and-a-half is nothing! We stay in a suite right on campus (on the golf course, actually) which doubles as country club, so I basically stay at the pool all day with the kids while my husband visits with his family.
It's great, too, because they have a restaurant and bar poolside, so you never have to move! I do the "girly thing" and bring a ton of mindless magazines with me and just relax. I also LOVE to swim so I do that with the kids sometimes. The last 15 minutes of every hour is reserved for adults to swim, which I also really enjoy!
great restaurants all over East Lansing. I love college towns.
Thanks for posting that, I AM, that was so nice of you! But no, I haven't worn that type shoe yet. I do have a couple pair that have about half inch rubber soles which make me feel a tad taller!

Miss P I'm from this small town called Aberdeen, where a huge military base is. I was right near the Susquehanna River. I could drive to Baltimore in about 45 minutes (horrible traffic) for some awesome food and shopping at Lexington Market.
Oh, I know Aberdeen! A friend of mine was stationed there years ago.
Anyway, I adore the Susquehanna. I used to hike there all the time. Also, there's a fabulous restaurant right by the river that I used to like going to, but only with "select" dates. It was very romantic.

Yeah the Susquehanna is beautiful. I used to swim there as a little girl until I was told about the Water Moccasins that swim in the river. Me and snakes? A very one-sided relationship...because I hate them!!!!
Tofu, that is very funny to me because today I was talking to the fine people at Virgin America about my impending flight to California later in the week. They told me that they have a policy that allows a person to bring a "pet" onboard--with proper medical authorization--for "emotional support." And it can be any type of pet, even a snake, they told me!
We were laughing about it on the phone because I said, "Hmmm. From now, whenever I check in for ANY flight on ANY airline, I am going to ask, 'By the way, are there going to be any SNAKES on board?'" If the answer is, "Yes," I will immediately ask to switched to a non-serpent carrying jet!
Good gracious I missed a bunch today. :)
So wait...who all is in the DC/VA area?? I am...and I go up to NYC all the time.

Maisie, right now I live in Greenville, NC. I hope very soon to relocate though. Maybe Raleigh or somewhere in Atlantic Beach. Heck for all I know I may just ditch NC and go up to Columbus, OH...I hear it's nice there.
Do I not win the furthest-away prize for not even being on the same landmass as you guys? :P
And lo, it is 7.43 in the am, and I'm not in bed, and not happy about it. And lo, y'all are probably in bed asleep! Life is not fair. D:
I am awake. Alas I probably can't entertain you, since I am... not entertaining.
