Oh Tofu, that is some of the most hilarious and helpful things I have ever read. Thank you!!
So I'm planning a trip to NYC for October (my first time!) to visit colleges. I'm so pumped! I'm hitting Fordham, Pace, Purchase, and Marymount Manhattan. Oh lord, I'm going to be so sick of walking around college campuses. But, of course, I'm most excited about seeing shows! I'm seeing Patti LuPone at Purchase- *fangirl squeal*- and I know that I HAVE to see Hair-*more squealing*. I'd like to see N2N, Letts' Superior Donuts, and The 39 Steps, but I know I'll have to trim that back.
Any votes about shows to see? Also, what NYC stuff can I NOT miss?
faithzilla, you lucky bitch! Of course you have to see Patti. Also hit up N2N, Hair, Twelfth Night in the Park, and Finian's Rainbow. I'd would also check out the Summer Play Festival and anything at the Lincon Center. But those would just be my personal picks. :) Have fun!
I hated my 20's. That decade sucks if you're shy. Every decade sucks if you're shy, but especially the stupid 20's.
faithzilla, you lucky bitch!
Twelfth Night will still be playing?
Oh I suppose I wouldn't know. Google!
Faith! I am going to NYC in October as well! And I won tickets to Superior Donuts so I shall be seeing that, but I suggest you see Bye Bye Birdie! (That's always been a person favorite of mine) and yes, you HAVE to see Hair!!
John Stamos will be in Bye Bye Birdie! That should be enough motivation to see that one. I LOATHE that show...it's quite possibly my least favorite, but John Stamos could get me to sit through it.
Welome back, Maisie!
Piano, how did you win those tickets? That's so cool. I want to see that.
Add me to the John Stamos fan club. We will definately be stage dooring that show!!
faith, you are gonna love NYC! I would say make time for N2N. It's brilliant.
Clever, I am so excited I just got my N2N tickets! 2nd row on Sept. 19th. So excited.
I saw Shrek Sunday and of course all three leads were out. I was bummed - I really wanted to see Sutton Foster. Oh well. It was still very cute and my kids loved it. Unbelievable sets and costumes....
oh yay! You're going to really love it! We want to go back in Sept to see Aaron again. I should see what I can get the 19th.
Three leads were out??? That's just wrong.
I saw Little Mermaid on Saturday and in the first act the Prince Eric fell. Like a slide, roll, and popped up on one knee and started singing. I was wondering if that was supposed to happen. But then his understudy came on for the 2nd act...the understudy was better, actually.
I'll be at the matinee if you end up getting tickets for that day - that would be so fun to meet up!
I have to admit to loving some of the songs from the Little Mermaid - I thought about trying to see it before it closes, but I don't think I'll get back down in August. Oh well.
Maisie, welcome back!
Have we chosen a month for our meetup in NYC?
Welcome Maisie!
Clever, are you ready for this? Twitter! lol and my friend won tickets to Blithe Spirit on Twitter so we saw that in June.
DanMag, did you get to see Haven Burton? because if so, I'm uber jealous. Her voice... omg, LOVE her voice
Piano, I was so mad. We didn't even get to see Haven! We saw Sarah Jane Everman, who did a fine job...but you know how it is. You pay all that money in hopes of seeing at least a few of the leads!!!
Oh well. I adored Christopher Sieber and John Tartaglia!
And BB, I don't think we have picked a month! We need to get cracking on that!
Piano- HOW did you win tickets on Twitter? Should I be getting a twitter???
DanMag, that stinks!
at least you had a good time!
And Faith, during the Tony's Broadways Best Shows was doing trivia and we won!
I could be in on a 2010 NYC outing. I usually go every year but have to skip in this year.
Holy Moly I missed a lot! I'll catch up soon. I'm SWAMPED at work.
Oh and the girl is officially on her way to Iraq today. :/
L, I'm sorry!
Piano, that's awesome that you won tickets via twitter!
I had my first physical therapy appointment today since I pulled my hamstring a week ago and it went pretty well. I'm just sore cause he did a ton of deep tissue massage. I'm just hoping to be well enough for Millie's opening on Saturday. But I know I won't be back to normal for at least 3 months.
Btw, it's so weird not being at work.
"Btw, it's so weird not being at work."
Welcome to my world, BB.
Thanks BB, but it's all good. :)
Glad your PT went well. Hope it's good for the opening! :)
Welcome back Maisie.....glad you had fun!
danmag, did I tell you the story about when I met Sutton Foster before she was "SUTTON FOSTER?"
