"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuPosted: 9/2/09 at 2:07am
Schmerg, everything will work out! That sucks so much, though...it's amazing how inept some high school counselors (okay, most) are.
SAMN, congratulations! Keep us posted on how it goes! What show is this again (forgive my bad memory if you've told us).
Maisie, that's worth bragging about! People usually tend to start out college on a really good foot or a really bad foot...in my case, I HATED it here, and because I was so miserable and homesick, I did absolutely terribly in the beginning. I admire you!
Kels, go with "Unusual Way." I'm a little biased because Nine is one of my absolute favorite musicals, but it's SUCH a beautiful song. You can't go wrong with it. I sang that for a voice recital a few years ago...I had been working on "A Call from the Vatican" with my voice teacher, but the performance was held in a church so we had to make a last minute change. Ha! Although now you have inspired me to listen to Chess...whenever my best friend and I do karaoke, we look feverishly for "I Know Him So Well." Nobody ever has it, which is a shame...our drunken, overly dramatic, super corny rendition of that song would be brilliant. And by brilliant, I mean painfully bad.

Ooh, Kels, "Unusual Way" is gorgeous. Michael Cerveris sang that song when he came to do ArtSpeak, and it was ridiculously beautiful... and I normally don't love his singing that much.

Congrats Maisie on the grades!

On the one hand, they cut out several of my most favourite parts, they killed Michael Williams (which is NOT cool), and one of the girls looked uncannily like Hayden Panettiere, a similarity that was only emphasised by the fact she looked incredibly pissed off whenever she was onstage but not Acting.
But on the other hand, they also cut that interminable English lesson, they managed to get Terry King to do the fight choreography, and Westmoreland looked uncannily like Dean Thomas from the Harry Potter movies which, I discovered at the interval, was because he *is* Dean Thomas from the Harry Potter movies.
I think I enjoyed it, but I'll stick with my fond fond fond fond FOND memories of the RSC production.
Congrats Maisie, break a leg SAMN, and I'd vote 'Unusual Way' as well Kelsey, if it hadn't already been voted in. XD

I also got my best "dumb overheard comment from fellow audience member" yet: "What comes after Henry V? Is it... is it a Richard or something...?". But as it's only hilarious if you're fully aware of either late medieval monarchical history or Shakespeare's Histories, I thought I'd save the "Hilarious comments overheard" thread.
(Henry VI is what comes next. In fairness, it's SUCH an obvious answer that no wonder it wouldn't occur to people. :3)

Leavin' in a couple of hours to visit Franklin & Marshall College with my best friend... it's not really one I'm that interested in, but it's her top choice, so I'm giving it a chance. I'll be gone till late tomorrow.
Soooo, I'm really aggravated with my friend Scott. This kid decided to invite me to the Kennedy Center "sometime this weekend" a few days ago and told me to tell him what days are good for me. I sent him a message, and waited for him to get back to me. It's been several days, and he hasn't been online at all. He has my phone number, but I don't know his. I'm leaving in an hour or two, and won't be back 'till Friday night, so I need to know which day/time he wants to go, so I can figure out which day I'm visiting my terminally ill aunt this weekend and whether I need to change my shift at the insect zoo.

And I hope you work out the thing with the Kennedy Center!

Stockard,
I can't PM you for some reason, but I need to talk to you about this weekend and give you the jerseys.
I'm off to class until later tonight, but can you PM me?
(I can respond once you send me one, just can't initiate the exchange - gotta love BWW!)
*kisses*
