Maisie that's adorable!

I'm trying to decide between spending New Year's here with my family or going to my aunt's house to spend it with her and my little cousins. Ohh dilemma.

So I pretend like I'm a hermit and a curmudgeon, but I make the effort to go to the occasional party, mostly as a "thank you for remembering I exist even though I've not seen you for a freakishly long time", and I end up having a really great time and - uhoh! - starting the new year with a new crush!

Just what IS it about brown-eyed boys with beautiful smiles that transforms me back into the graceless, awkward 14 year old who would stare at boys across a room, hoping that this creepy and antisocial behaviour would make them realise they were madly in love with me? It's totally embarrassing, man. But he is VERY pretty, so am I allowed to throw dignity to the wind and Facebook-stalk him? I mean, he did say something about Facebook-stalking me, but that could've just been small-talk banter, like when you've met a new person and aren't invested enough to make real conversation? Oh, I don't know. I've been sitting by the 'book all day like a big freakin' nerd on the offchance I get stalked first. XD Or I could message our mutual friend and be all "hey, lovely to see you the other night, you looked great, nice to meet your other half, TELL ME ALL ABOUT THAT CUTE GUY YOU BROUGHT ALONG, loved your hair!" in super unsubtle stylee? AM SUCH A 14 YEAR OLD RIGHT NOW DAMNIT! happiness :D

OR! I could go to bed so I'll actually be up in time to shower, pack lunch, de-ice the car, AND get to work in time. Sounds like a plan!

2010's already awesome. May I wish you all the happiest of new years! You ladies (biologically and otherwise) all deserve fabulous 2010s, and I truly wish for you to have them. :3

So, I kinda don't have a job now. I was not laid-off or fired but I looked that the schedule today and I work tomorrow and then I have no more hours for the rest of the week.... and the rest of the January schedule isn't posted. I knew my hours we're going to be cut but I was not expecting that! I literally went from working 40 hours a week to 10 this week to nothing next week. I am majority bummed because I like this job and I want to keep working there.... I think I can get a job at the local starbucks and then just go back to the store in March or April when they need me again.
It sucks though, because if they could have just given me some hours for another month then I would have been fine because by then my student loans would have gone through.... but nope. Happy 2010 to me.

Oh! And I have some major family drama going on! Me and my mom refused to go over to my stepdads family's for new years because every year we go over there something awful happens and we end up screaming or crying or both... my stepdad thought we were being snobby and I guess he and my mom got in this big stink about it. He's being an idiot.... his family lives right next door to them- y'all who are married; imagine living right next door to your inlaws..... yeah it's awful. I only have a problem with two people in his family, but they bring out the worst in each other. But I guess now my mom has kinda had enough... I don;t want to say they are splitting up because everytime I say that they don't... but yeah it's messy and after 12 years of them having the same arguments I am kinda done with there s**t (though I have almost always been on my mom's side).

At least these things are kinda distracting me from the fact that that guy I though was such a sure thing isn;t speaking to me.

This yeah is off to a awful start. booo

It's been nothing but uneventful so far on my end.

Kels, I'm so sorry. You can always vent here...maybe 2010 is just throwing a year's worth of crap at you now, and the rest of the year will go completely smoothly?

Weez, that's cute! Let us know if anything progresses!

I feel bad for you Kels. Honestly I am sick of my father's side of the family living so close to us, neither can my mother, I can't imagine living next door to any of them except my saintly grandparents (Grandpa lives in nursing home and Grandma is now on living assistance. Both have dementia.). My family is so freaking bipolar, myself included, and my father acts all holier than thou over how the rest of us just yell, vent, and rant over things yet he does squat to ever really solve the given problem. I'll be honest, it surprises me that my parents have still been married for over 26 years with nothing like marriage counseling or couples therapy.

Anyway I am back at school. College runs on trimester system so I got an incredibly long break between Thanksgiving and New Years but then of course next break is not even two weeks (My birthday week to be exact). Boo! I got class tomorrow. Praise the Olympic games because there is never anything going on in Feb at all.

Strummer - My mom's side has bipolar and a couple other things going on so I feel you! I try to explain to people that if they met my family then they would understand that this is about as sane as I get.... my neurosis are all their fault!

The somewhat good news is that my mom seems to think I can get unemployment even though I was not technically fired or laid off.

Oh and I just got a bit more of (potential) good news.... my friend (who happens to be my high school bf's sister) works in the theater part of a summer camp in the bronx and since my ex isn't doing the camp this coming summer she want me to take his place! It's not definate because she needs to clear it with the boss, but if I get it it's 6 weeks, $10 an hour, and IN THE CITY! Only thing is that I would need someplace to stay.... any of y'all live near the city and want to help an IEBAG out happiness :D

Aurgh, I don't want to go back to school tomorrow!

Even though I am way too bored at home over break... I've been playing Zoo Tycoon (a game I haven't played since I was ten) and I made a zoo full of animals that I named after Harry Potter characters and another zoo full of animals named after Disney characters.

I have a ton of homework to do, a room to clean, laudry to be washed, and stuff to be organized. All I want to do is sleep. Ugh. I really do not want to go back to school tomorrow. And I have no idea how to do my chemistry homework.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

My brothers are in the middle of all these back-to-school blues too. The house is going to be insanely quiet for the rest of my time here.

So yesterday I took a night off from being 19-going-on-45 and it was soo much fun to remember I have friends! Haha. My friend Amber had me hang out with her new friends, some of which I've met before. Tom's an angel and actually conived a plan to hang out at their friend Kurt's house because he wanted us to meet so badly. I didn't get why until we got there & learned that we are pretty much the same person! Unfortunately, all of this reminded me of the fact that I'm unreasonably afraid of everything having to do with this area of business. But things are definitly looking interesting, So, we'll have to see how all of this plays out.

So I'm in my dorm, not the least bit tired. My roommate is snowed in and cannot get in until tomorrow. I did not even go to mess hall to get my taste back for college food- not half bad- and did not by my books for next term (except Spanish that took place all the way back in November) and I did not work out today (which is as rare as Ethel Merman missing a performance) so I feel incredibly inadequate right now. I am also fearing I will sleep through my first class.

I mentioned how bipolar my family is, we had a bit of an episode about seven different times in first two hours in my dorm about everything. The hot topic of late has been that I am an atheist. My mom insists my atheism is just a phase, again like my Dad she thinks it is too much reading of Nietzsche. Can I just say both of my parents are the biggest cafeteria catholics and liberals in the world. Yet they are completely intolerant of first-born daring to not utter grace at the dinner table. Believe me, I would have been more drastic in my 'rebellion' than just not being able to suspend reality on virgin birth, turning water into wine, and rising from the dead. Not saying I am anti-theistic against the religious beliefs expressed here on IEBAGs but it is really crummy how this issue is treated by my own parents and my little sister.

DANMAAAAAG. SO. MANY. NIGHTMARES.

I understand the woe of having pay way too much money for dental care, though. Braces are so annoying... hopefully, I'll be getting them off this summer.

It's come to my attention that I definitely need to make more way in my time for a social life. I'm on break but I can't stop dreaming about work. I think I'm far too young for the people at work and at school to be telling me "You need to get out more."

Call that my new year's resolution.
