danmag, you big tease!!!!! Well, I guess that was a confidence-booster though!

You probably could have brought about a change in policy.......I think they would have loved your Happy Hours!

Count me in on the Europe trip too!

So guess who didn't show up up to class today... Mr. love 'em and leave 'em. I cannot stand when people avoid me, and it's not like I am going to attack him when I see him- I am really not that scary of a person! Ah well, he's going to get crap if he doesn't show up from our Choir director because we're short on men this semester. Asshat.

My classes are awesome this semester so far, even though I have been sick (I actually thought I was going to faint at school today... not fun). Abnormal psych and Design I are going to be easy, but I think World Civ is going to be really tough (but the teacher is awesome, so it makes it worth the extra effort).

Sorry to hear you're sick, Kels. I had a bacterial infection that put me in malaise by entire fall term and it completely reflected my grade performance. Only bright side was I dropped weight. Hope you get better and hope all is going well for you academically (and socially).

danmag, I agree with Hells. It definitely boosts your confidence that at least somewhere you are wanted.

Hours ago I gave my application to get a study abroad term in Ireland. I am hoping my essay separated me from everybody (mostly about Irish cinema and reflecting Irish society) and one of my old professors is going on the trip so **fingers crossed**. Only ten students get to go from my school along with another college, and as far as I know at least 20 others applied.

I got a C+ on that Spanish exam. Lesson learned. It was actually my expectations as I never really studied.

I need to go into major Facebook withdrawal as that is reason #1 over how little I studied. But now my mom has tabbed me as her Prof. Higgins to create her a proper facebook page. I knew I was in for something when she friended me.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend.

danmag, turning down a job is kind of oddly satisfying, huh? Hope the rest of the search goes well!

Kels, I've been sick too...I feel your pain. Sucks that he's avoiding you, but he'll have to face it eventually. You've got power in the situation, so good for you!

strummer, I hope you get chosen! That would be so much fun. Also, why aren't we Facebook friends?

JAG- I'll PM you. I'm feeling the heat from my family. They independently have planned a trip to Ireland 2 weeks ahead of me going there. They said they'll include me regardless but if I fall in love with the country I am going to mad depress for not getting to live there for 3 months.

I love that they offered you the job and you turned it down. What's the point of taking a job that you know you wouldn't like? Besides, if you took the job it would interfere with your chaperone duties.

In the past 48 hours two people I graduated from high school with got engaged.... I'm 20-freakin- years old! This makes me want to bang my head against the wall because as lame as it sounds (and I would never want to get married this young btw) these chicks are engaged and I can't hold on to a guy for more the a few months (if I'm lucky!).... not to mention I had a long think about this whole situation with "The Guy" and finally let myself admit that he really did hurt me.
I think I am going to go take a hatchet to a Valentines Day display.... :-P

I know a couple of couples from High School who were engaged senior year. All I have to say is I wish those people do not have the gift of procreating.

Kels, I am all for being anti-Valentines Day, my least favorite holiday. He totally did hurt you.

High school is just way too young to be getting married. Why not just wait? I wouldn't get married any younger than 25, but that's just me. I wonder what their parents think...

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

I applied on Friday to study at NUI-Galway for next fall term. It is super competitive and I am not sure when I will be notified if I will go or not. My parents decided on a whim that in late August they will go to Ireland for vacation along with myself and my sister. They supposedly got a good deal since I have one Uncle in the hotel business.

Hope that clears confusion, Stock.

I haven't since 2007. It's so expensive to get there and you really need to go for a couple weeks to make it worth it. She's right by the ocean though so it's beautiful.

Um... I don't know, man! I have, like, no money, so either as late in the year as we can, or go without me and I'll catch you for our 2011 reunion or something. XD

'Sup ladies?! (I said a variation of that to a girl I thought was hot the other day and it DID NOT have the desired effect. She thought I was nuts. So much for lesbian pickup lines huh?)

Just seeing how everyone's doing...well I hope.

Oh and count me in on the "I ain't got no cash" thingy. I know it's only January but it's not looking so good for anything to happen by the summer. Late in the year is a possibility I suppose but who knows?

And Star, of course you can go. I mean c'mon you're an integral part of the IEBAG thread now. You're stuck with us whether you like it or not.

Kels, I'm really sorry this whole thing hit you so hard. If it helps just think about the next time that jackass hurts another girl. Chances are he'll get herpes and be a walking pustule, both figuratively and literally.

So I don't know if you guys remember my homophobic, misogynistic, poor excuse for a human being coworker "Assy McGee" but he asked me out yesterday. Like out, out. Dinner, drinks, dress and strappy heels OUT!!! The way he asked wasn't nearly as vile as I thought it would be but just when I was starting to not hate his ever-lovin' guts he followed it up with a well placed "your butt would probably look good in a mini skirt". Ain't love GRAND??!! Needless to say I turned him down not once but 3 times in a row and he had the nerve to say that I was mean and that I hurt his feelings. What the f*ck ever.

That is a total WTF moment Tofu.

I knew when my computer wigged out I would miss something.

As for the IEBAG convention- I am always open to a trip to New York City whenever though I have been down in Manhattan for 2 years.

EDIT:

Oh my film class. Mr. Mainstream Jabberwocky Homophobe is back and is still in the mainstream realm of things in a class where the films are anything but.

I thought I was safe across the room- I was wrong. Today a guy next to me snored so loudly that I wanted to drop a book in his direction, but then this class gave me no books for such a thing. Now as I watch a film for class he is wreaking of pot. Not surprised.
