You're so lucky, Dan!
I just got back from my appointment with the allergist. She scatched a ton of different molds, weeds, nuts, and diluted peanut allergens into my back. And I reacted to all of them! Is that crazy or what? So I now have a new fancy EpiPen that has double the dose of medicine so I don't die. :)

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Had a GREAT time in NY - loved the play, loved the hotel and loved all the $18 martinis.
WEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!!!!! Guess who was sitting right across the aisle from me at the theatre??? LEE TERGESEN!!!! Tobias from Oz! You don't know how hard it was for me not to whisper to him "psssst....how did Adibisi keep that hat on his head??"
And ALMOST as exciting was walking by Booger from Revenge of the Nerds on our way back to the hotel. I love random minor celebrity sightings.

Justin Kirk, Booger, and Lee Tergesen all in one day? danmag, I'm completely jealous!
You know you are back in college when you have a paper, Spanish exam, and reading assignments all in front of you but have no desire to do any of it. Oh did I mention my application to study abroad is coming soon too? I am a terrible procrastinator (yet I still manage to get good grades) and I am also turning into a night owl so all I do is still up ungodly hours through the night while watching movies on TCM. My roommate is also a snorer but I love here nonetheless.
What's the best way to get back into manageable sleep hours?

danmag, THAT IS AWESOME. Glad you had fun!
strummer, yeah, I have a lot of schoolwork I'm supposed to be doing right now, but...no. Sadly, I don't know how to get back to manageable sleeping hours because I have the bad habit of going to bed at 4AM and waking up at noon.

AHHH, Danmag! That is so cool!
I have my first college interview tomorrow (at Franklin & Marshall College in Amish Country), and I'm kinda nervous... I have no idea what to expect. I don't think that what I'm wearing is typical college interview clothes (little black and white polka dotted dress, black tights, red flats, red earrings, black trench coat), but I really don't own any 'business' style clothes.

Schmerg, I think your clothes are fine. Just be early if you can and be engaging, which I doubt you will lack.
F&M's a good school though I never applied there. My college is similar, a well-rated liberal arts school that runs on tri-mester (I think you will love this) in upstate NY, which is about as highly lauded as Pennsyltucky.

stummergirl, I'm the same way with procrastinating and staying up into the unholy hours of the night/early morning. And yet from some reason I want to squeenze more into my day by taking a SAT class and voluteering at the SPCA. I must be out of my mind.

hmmm. Not so sure how that second interview went today. The company president is this very intense British guy. He asked me if I had references and I was like, "ummm, my last job was 13 years ago and my former boss is actually dead". Which is true. Then he asked me how I had been keeping up with my skills since I had been home. I was dying to tell him how proficient I was posting drunken pictures on Facebook, but I bit my tongue.
Maybe I should start thinking about retail....or stripping....

Aw, danmag! I'm sure it was fine. I'd consider stripping before retail, though...just a tip.

Jag, it's not easy working the pole at age 45...Thankfully there is a lovely establishment nearby called the 19th Hole that I am sure hires strippers that are approaching Social Security eligibility.
I'm keeping that idea on the back burner for now...

dan, did they say when they were going to make their decision? I'm sure your sparkling personality won him over.
Did you ever give your review of the play you saw in NY - if so, I missed it.

I didn't even ask when they were making the decision...I imagine it will be soon - it's not like I applied for a nuclear physicist position. I'm just not sure...it seems so "professional" over there - I don't know if I would like it or not.
As for the play, I really enjoyed it!! Loved Justin Kirk and Zach from Saved by the Bell was in it too (Mark Paul Gosselar, I think??) I realized almost all the shows I see are musicals, so it was nice to see a play for a change!
