Hey everybody! Mauri, welcome! I remember you from the Avatar thread days!
New Kids on the Block last night was lots of fun, especially the drunk, aging groupies who were still desperately trying to strut their half-dressed stuff near stage, god love 'em.
newgirl, I just looked up Brad Peterson. You go girl!

I forgot that the concert was last night Jag! I'm glad you had a good time!
Danmag, didn't you get super bored and sad last time your family went away? I'll say what I said last time. Drown those sorrows in some good ol' fashioned boxed wine

BB - what are YOU doing this weekend? Hmmm?
I'm probably going to sit around reading and watching new movies, maybe I'll finally get around to seeing Wall-E even though I'm like a year late :X.

Shh, LOL I have to stay sober cause I'm performing in a show and rehearsing for another all weekend. I'm attempting to live vicariously through danmag. Or I guess drink vicariously would be more appropriate.

I totally didn't mention this - but I was a devoted Techie from Sophomore year in high school until this last semester, although I just switched programs at school so I don't think I'll be able to devote the same amount of time to a show :[. and I'm also too old for the summer programs around here. I miss it so much!

I'd love to share cute dog pictures, but I only have a cat. She is adorable though. :3
I'd like to formally object to my bio; I hope I'm a *little* more interesting than "lives far away but is cool". ;D
Out of interest, who in this thread has seen Next to Normal, who just listens to it (and loves it), who has listened to it (but wasn't that impressed), and who has next to no opinion about it? I'm in the "listen and love!" camp, and I get the impression I'm not alone. Fill me in! :3

JAG-isn't he dreamy? But honestly, I really DO love his music, too. REALLY. To be even more of a nerd, I did say to him "Hey, we're Facebook friends!" Oh that was the Captain n Diets talking.
My friend is going to the New Kids show tonight. Funny.

Brad Peterson = adorable.
PS totaaaally a N2N Listen and Love persona. It makes cleaning the basement almost bearable because it gives me a chance to listen to it through.
Weez - is your cat the one in your photo? [possibly dumb question - just checking :X]

I have seen N2N..twice. And will see it a third time no doubt. (my daughter and I are a little obsessed with the show!)
The music is some of the best I have heard in a long time. Alice Ripley is beyond brilliant. And both times I've seen it I can't get through J. Robert Spencer's "I've Been" without crying my eyes out.

Yep, that's my Pepsi. She likes to say "browp!" and sleep on my head at night.
I didn't watch Wallander last night after all, so I'm watching it now. I forgot how surprisingly awesome it was. Did you guys get this over there, or is it still just on our side of the Atlantic? Who'd've thought that Kenneth Branagh would make such an aces morose Swedish detective? XD

Weezy, what's Wallander?
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Well, it's... Kenneth Branagh being a morose Swedish detective.
Three feature-length TV movies based on the ridiculously popular Swedish novels by Henning Mankell. They're filming three more this summer, hurrah! I guess this means y'all may not have it. It's a BBC thing. I loff the BBC. :3

I don't generally go a bundle over crime drama, but I have a thing for watching TV shows featuring actors I've enjoyed in plays, and it's a little bit vicious; not so much that I can't watch it with my family, but enough that the gruesome part of me that thinks violent horror movies are awesome is sated, for a Sunday evening TV show. :3

Ahh I don't get that from Sasha - but when she's hungry at 4:30 AM she's decided it's fun to play "Sit on mommy's neck and scratch at her face until she feeds me"
Ladies - my mom just informed me that we're going out for mexican after we do some business errands at 5:30. I can feel my jeans stretching already :X. i'll likely come home and collapse - so y'all have a good night

I was obsessed with Next to Normal (until I bought Chess!). Seeing as I live in California, I'll just have to wait for the tour. And I really wanted to see Alice Ripley too.
