newgirl, that's freaking hilarious.

Sort of related, my mom is now married to her HS sweetheart (they broke up when they went to college and then met up again years later), and she told me that when they were in HS he used to tell her if they "did it" in the water at the lake she couldn't get pregnant. I was like, totally TMI Mom!

So we go to karate and then to the hospital to see Chris. The supervising nurse was like "No way is a 6 year old going to visit anyone". So then she called up to find out what the dealio was with the other nurse saying Henry could come up. She comes back out and says "They are bringing him down for surgery right now, I'll sneak you in to give him a kiss"

SURGERY? WTF? I thought that was a last ditch option. So anyway we go in and say whatever to him (he's totally loopy) and I bring Henry home, feed him, clean up the kitchen and now I'm going to drive Henry over to my BIL's house and go back up. I've just downed 2 glasses of wine in quick succession so hopefully I won't get pulled over. It's not a major thing, they were just opening up the blister to clean it out. Gross. I don't want to go up right away because I'm sure he'll be in recovery until at least 7:30. Ugh. I hate the hospital.

Stockard, things are always so hectic in hospitals...nurses never seem to agree with each other! At least they let Henry in. I hope he isn't too worried.

newgirl (and Stockard), your stories are hilarious. Similarly, the only guy my mom's slept with is my dad (she was super young when they got married...Dad got around, though!). She always claimed that she'd be able to tell when I had sex for the first time, which I of course laughed off. She DID, though! And I never said a word to her before she specifically asked me about it. Moms aren't lying about that stuff! I've never told her my number, but I'm sure that with her spidey senses, she just...knows. And I'm sure she is similarly appalled.

Danmag, if Clever's not down, I'll totally help you with that Patron. I'm supposed to be going out tomorrow night anyway so look out for some MAJOR f*ck-up-ery from good ol' Tofu.

SAMN, I am so proud of you. You dabbled in the "love that dare not speak its name". YAY!!! However I must ask, because I'm somewhat perverted and just plain nosy...was it over or under the sweater?!

And to all of my semi-sluts: I tip my hat to you!!!! Believe it or not I don't really think I'd even qualify as a quasi-slut. Although there may be room for interpretation on that front.

Stockard, I'm sorry about your hubby. And I know what you mean about hospitals. Me and hospitals DO NOT MIX. Ever since I was 15 I've had really bad feelings toward hospitals. If I have to visit a friend or family member I'll go but I CAN'T stay for too long before I'm a step away from hyperventilating. Horrible.

L, I wanna know all about your woes with the fairer sex. I saw that picture you posted of that sexy Sapphic lady and I'd be just as flustered as you!!! I talk a good game but when sh*t goes down it's hard to gauge what'll actually happen. And you say she lays it on pretty thick huh? I'd probably stumble over my words at first then hopefully make a strong comeback with the patented Tofu wit and charm.

Jag, your mom never slept with anyone but your dad? Good for her. I don't know exactly how I'll end up in the long run but I can tell you that both my mom and grandmother (before she found God) were both the "other" woman at one time or another on more than one occasion. According to Southwest Philadelphia myth and legend my mom had to crawl out the back window of a married man's house when his wife came home from the market. I wonder if I have the "slut gene" in me but it's just dormant until I find a married woman at the gym and seduce her. Stockard you said you spin right? *Wink* *Wink* I'm just kidding Stock....sort of.

SAMN, we will help you reach slut status in no time.

So my husband is out of surgery, but we really don't know anything. I'm assuming it's not too dire since the doctor just basically wrapped the hand back up and sent him back up to his room to have his IV antibiotic and drugs. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out the scoop. He's hoping he can come home tomorrow but I don't want him to push it.

Thank you all for your well wishes. I'm going to go drink some more wine before bed.

Good for you, Maisie. Seriously! It's way too easy to fall under pressure, and I really respect people who don't. It'll work out how it's supposed to. You'll know whether or not you're ready, and when.

tofu, they got married when she was 22 and started dating when she was 20. She was unbelievably shy growing up and never really had any relationships, so my dad was the first serious one...and the only one! The good thing to come out of that is she never really judges me, because I know she regrets getting hitched so early and not getting to have a lot of experience with men (not even just sex, but dating and flirting and all that). LOVE that story, though! It's like something out of a movie!

Also, slut statuses? Yes please. "Slut Legend"...I can see it now.

Not much really, yet. They unwrapped the bandage and it looks like they had to go in much deeper than he thought they did. But the tracks that were going down his arm are gone, so that's good. Last night he thought he might come home today, but the nurse today said they'd try to have him out by the weekend. He has to wait for the doctor to come look at it. And he'll have to have physical therapy. WTF.....

I'm sorry Stock! That's really awful. But I'm not surprised that he'll need some physical therapy. Depending on how deep they went, they may have hit tendon. But as long as he's diligent with his exercises he should be perfectly fine (This is coming from a former physical therapy major who has a mother that's a physical therapist haha)

I like that they are being cautious, Stockard. I have heard too many stories where people go home early and infections get worse.

clever, I didn't dress up this time but I did a couple years ago, when I was their age. It's surprisingly fun, if not a little embarrassing.

Glad to hear Chris is doing okay, Stockard (considering). Good luck with your hospital visit.

Needless to say I still haven't gone to the hospital. I had to vacuum the pool. My friend Lori is coming over with her neices, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I will have to go up there eventually, because I have to learn to change the IV bags that he will have when he comes home.

Okay, I am the girl who's every guy's best female friend-- the girl who gets asked out by her guy friends and turns them down. So I've never been kissed, or anything close. But I have these two totally platonic guy friends in theatre, and they always call me Boobs (since out of the three of us, I'm the only one with 'em) and are always pretending to grope me and make jokes about my porn star career and stuff, so if anyone who didn't really know us heard us talking or saw us hanging out, they'd think I was the biggest skank in the world.

I was going to take Henry to my MIL's and go to the hospital, but my MIL is on her way to the hospital...so now I have to wait for her to visit before I can take Henry over there and then go to Mighty Taco and bring Chris some food. Which is going to cut into happy hour.
