<--- the set of A Midsummer Night's Dream that I was assistant stage manager for during the 2007 season at the STNJ outdoor stage.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.
~Dirty Rotten Scoundrels~

There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel.
~Curtains~

It is a far, far better thing I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to, than I have ever known.

re: I Miss the Classic Disney Channel

Anyone else remember Roundhouse on Nick or should I say SNICK?

"Whenever my life gets me so down
I know I can go down
to where the music and the fun never ends
As long as that music keeps playin'
you know what I'm sayin'?
I know that I can find some friends
down at the ROUNDHOUSE!"

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

re: I Miss the Classic Disney Channel

No, it's not on the GAS network.

I think that you have to have comcast cable to get it.
And then, do you know Monseiur Marius, I believe I was a little in love with you.

David the Knome. THAT's the name of the show?

I've been telling people it was called like Knomelys or something.

I loved that show. Tom Bosley at his finest. Screw Mr. C.

Whoever mentioned "You Can't Do That On Television"--I loved that show!! The water and slime that would fall from the ceiling if you said "water" or "I don't know"

Some classic lines:

--"Dddyyyaaaaiiiii heard that!" from Barth the cook

--"Don't encourage your sister!" and other variations by members of that odd family

or the Announcer before the show started with lines like:

--"Mr Rodgers Vandalizes the neighborhood will not be seen at this time so that we may bring you this show which we managed to steal."

--"Reading Rambo" will not be seen at this time because Rambo can't read.

or the classic sketches that took place in Blip's Arcade, in the dugeon, or about to be executed by the firing squad.

Classic TV Sketch Comedy!

"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays. I don't know about you, but I'd like to make today worth remembering." --Harold Hill from The Music Man

Does anyone else remember "Danger Bay" on the Disney Channel? I only just thought of it. Forget "Seaquest", "Danger Bay" is the reason I wanted to be a Marine Biologist back on High School, until I realized I'd be a terrible scientist.

When I was a kid, I never realized that all the adult characters on YCDTOTV were played by the same man. Except the mom and the librarian, of course. re: I Miss the Classic Disney Channel/Nickelodeon

And Alasdair was such a cutie.

I used to hate Vault Disney, but I miss it now. I can't understand how kids think the crap on television is good.

I watched the All That 10th Aniversary last year because I missed how the show used to be. It was cool that Kenan, Kel, Josh, and Danny (and the Big Ear of Corn!) was on it, but otherwise the new cast completely ruined it.

Sadly, I never saw YCDTOT when it was actually playing on the network, but I saw tapes of it. There was also a spinoff called Turkey Television.

Land of the Lost was good. I loved the old game shows. I miss Hey Dude, and the old Snick. I remember when I used to watch Nick, and the worst thing that could come on was Nick News. I used to go back and forth between Cartoon Network, Disney, and Nick. Cartoon Network used to play good movies at night, like the original Land Before Time (before they made parts 2-12 or whatever and ruined it).

Found this (wonder if it's true):

September 2006, Disney Channel's new
2-hour block called Disney Channel Rewind features New Mickey Mouse Club, Kids Incorporated, The Babysitter's Club, and Ocean Girl. The Disney Channel Rewind Bumpers from 1980's Mickey Mouse Hands Interstitials. The new block starts September 10, 2006 on Sundays Only at 1/12c.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I miss THE MYSTERY FILES OF SHELBY WOO, It was killed when they moved from Florida to CT, what the hell!? I was like, Shelby in CT with some odd girl and no more Noah and Cammy!? I was so upset.

Do you remember- My Brother & Me? I loved that show. Nowadays, yes, I love THATS SO RAVEN, its pretty funny. I get chuckle out of SUITE LIFE OF ZACH AND CODY and HANNAH MONTANA sometimes but otherwise, their pretty standard and silly. My only favorite part of the Suite Life is London, she's the Disney verison of Paris Hilton, its too much and Maddie is just so tormented by her, its quite funny.

The Nun- Someone's in trouble.
London- Who the creepy weird girl {points to weird girl}
The Nun- No the spoiled hotel heiress!
London- Is Paris Hilton in this class.

{cracked me up that scene}

re: I Miss the Classic Disney Channel/Nickelodeon

Oh the nostalgia... these were the television shows I grew up on.

I think once they got rid of Stick Stickley, it got progressively worse...

Write to me... Stick Stickley P.O. box 963... New York City, New York State, 101...08!

I miss:

Legends of the Hidden Temple (I still watch it every day)
Rocko's Modern Life
Salute Your Shorts
Hey Dude!
The Secret World of Alex Mack
Doug
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Clarissa Explains It All
Roundhouse
All That (ORIGINAL CAST - Lori Beth's Vital Information was amazing)
Nick Arcade (still watch it)
The Adventures of Pete & Pete
Ahhh! Real Monsters

but I can go on forever...

And the aimed-for-children shows like Eureeka's Castle, Under the Umbrella Tree, Gullah Gullah Island, Allegra's Window.

And from Disney, I really only miss:

So Weird
In A Heartbeat
The Famous Jett Jackson
The Jersey

Sigh... Interesting note, I found a website selling team T-Shirts from Legends of the Hidden Temple... I just got my Orange Iguana and Silver Snakes ones in the mail the other day!

Meh, the only one I might watch is Babysitter's Club. Still, it's a good idea. Maybe Nickelodeon will follow suit, and maybe more shows will be added.
