Are people supporting you for this walk? That should answer your question.
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

I was able to squeeze $20 out of my mom. Apparently I'm not the best salesperson.

if you dont think a charity has an honest spending record, why did you sign up to walk for them?

Should I or should I not post what I really want to in response to this selfish inquiry...

Thanks and best wishes to those who are walking for their causes. Rain or shine. Because it's important.

Hell, I am just excited that I live close enough to participate. I was so excited by the donations from people I didn't even know. My friends and family were great, too. My grandparents back in Tennessee donated $100. I was really touched.

I must agree with the majority. You signed up for it, you do it. Don't ditch because of some rain.

Besides, it's an ample opportunity to sing "Singin' in the Rain" actually in the rain. And who doesn't want to do that (at least, I do)?

re: Should I or should I not blow off the AIDS walk this Sunday?

Well I didn't know that this charity wasn't the mosst honest one in the world until after I signed up. I guess I should have done my homework on this one, sue me.

If I ditch its because of finding out that this charity doesn't have the greatest track record, and yes to perhaps see a show instead.

Joekv- aren't you the person who first mentioned that this charity spends a majority of its money on advertising and such? If I thought at this point that walking a few blocks was going to help a person with AIDS to a better life or give them a few more years I probably would be using a different tone. I mean no disrespect at all for anyone living with this disease.

Sorry people on this board are so sensitive.

Phyllis Rogers- I'm a college student with few connections and broke friends. I wasn't planning to raise a couple of hundred, I was planning to raise as much as I could. Whenever I so much as mentioned trying to raise money on this board I got nothing but criticism. I am not at all saying that this is my only social connection, but it wasn't a very good sign. I'm sorry if I didn't try hard enough for you.

re: Should I or should I not blow off the AIDS walk this Sunday?

Look, I'm sorry, alright?

When I decided to join the AIDS walk I figured that it seemed like a nice thing to do. That's all. Yes, I do feel for anybody with the AIDS virus or anybody who is close to a person who has died of the AIDS virus. I have not had the misfortune of being personally affected by it. Perhaps that makes me slightly insensitive. If it does, I really do apologize.

The fact is, with that said and whether or not this charity is honest or not, no walk or fundraiser is going to cure AIDS or relieve the pain for anybody suffering from it. Or at least I would infer. Perhaps I am wrong.

In hindsight, the way I presented my question does in fact seem insensitive but I did not mean to upset so many people by it.

I retract my question if that makes a difference now and I did make a commitment whether or not it was an informed one. Thus, I will walk this Sunday.

Really? I got nothing but support and several donations! The folks on BWW were very supportive.

Yes. As I have stated, I am apparently not the best fundraiser or salesperson but either way, I did not receive support on this site or through other attempts through family and friends. This was mainly because many of my connections simply could not afford to help out.

I can't even believe you're asking this question.
