Hey guys! I am now on the train heading back home and WHAT a fantastic day! I ended up throwing in a donation myself and begging one more friend for a total of $950. It was so beautiful seeing alllll those people together for one goal. The rain stayed away until after the walk and it really didn't seem that long because we were all walking together. We couldn't have asked for it to be more perfect. And if the original poster didn't end up going, it was their loss. Hell, I have a bag full of goodies! re: Should I or should I not blow off the AIDS walk this Sunday? ( Anyone need condoms or lube?). There were several celebrities there, too, including Kenneth Cole, Hal Sparks, Bruce Vilanche, Wilson Cruz, Loretta Divine and some other chick... Can't remember her name. *points to avatar and squees like a nutty fangirl!* We were right up front. Anyway, much love to those who helped or encouraged!

Glad it was a good experience for you. I was actually thinking about the walk at work today, and hoping that the rain stayed away long enough for you all to not get soaking wet. it ended up being gorgeous in hartford, ct too for the NAMI walk. i found a bunch of people from my school and walked with them :)

my first AIDS walk 3 years ago (which was also in hartford, although i wasn't walking in it, i was working there, it was put on by the agency i work for) it POURED. and it was cold. but it was so much fun. i can't wait for october to do it again :)

I just wanted to pop in and congratulate everyone who did walk and raise any amount of money to help in this amazing cause. Even if you didn't raise much money, you raised something more important than that- you raised awareness!

I have finally caught up with reading this whole thread and all I can say is HOLY CRAP... I work with 10 year olds and I haven't encountered as much whining from them as I have from the OP. We are not here to validate your life or your crappy priorities. Stop making excuses and then crying because no one will hold your hand and tell you that its OK. That's not what we're here for. We don't know you very well so your "stock" here is pretty limited. You need to earn your reputation here and you have earned the reputation of being immature and needy and not a very empathetic person. This is a great cause that affects many people here and to trivialize this cause is horrible and pathetic.

Jane, it was not beautiful here....last I heard it was 106....and I had to drive to Palm Desert for a dental appt at 9AM, then to Morena Valley to pick up a credit card I left there yesterday, then on to IKEA in West Covina to pick up two more small rugs that we didn't buy enough of in San Diego yesterday, ugh.....thank God for air-conditioning......
and damn those fools on the 60 who do NOT know how to drive!
