Gold lame does nothing for no one.

Posted: 10/7/08 at 2:09pmBORSTAL i have to respectfully disagree. i've seen quite a few Rocky's that "rocked" the gold lame hot pants (or less). Also, Meloni could make gold lame less lame. If he can make coaching shorts hots in THE GYM TEACHER MOVIE.....

Posted: 10/7/08 at 2:18pmyep, WAT, and also "str8-but-not-narrow" which i love about him even more. Since the thread was apparently deleted, i'll threadjack here with "how you first knew you were watching too much gay porn"...."when the cleaning ladies alphabetized the VHS covers in the spare bedroom armoire." When you forget to hide the stash, you know you're in too deep.

Posted: 10/7/08 at 5:43pmWhen I realized that all of my sexual fantasies were with women.

Posted: 10/7/08 at 5:49pmi can recall a very liquid dream about an older guy in my church youth group that made me wonder. Looking back, i can also recall a fascination with a teenager i met once in a city playground (i would have been about nine). He could do this visual thing where he inserted his thumb in his mouth and "inflated" his bicep, making it bounce once fully engorged. It was not really sexual or sensual, but it always stayed with me, and i can picture that kid's face to this day. Funnily enough, not his arm so much, but the confidence and maturity of his face. i was such a "good kid" and he was such a "tough guy."

Posted: 10/7/08 at 5:57pmFifteen, I think. Bible study at my friend's house. I was lying on the floor and this girl beside me whom I didn't know, inched closer and closer and started playing with my hair. Yeah, she kissed me in the kitchen later. I don't think I slept for two days.

Posted: 10/7/08 at 7:07pmno offense, KATHYGRIFFINHEARTS, but if you are not a str8 man watching L WORD for the visuals, then you were already a toaster-oven-owning, card-carrying Lesbytarian converted by ELLEN long ago.

I kinda questioned if I was straight or not when I saw Xanadu. I mean I was this straight guy laughing at the same things a gay guys were laughing at.
And, I am straight and I don't watch the L word just for the visuals. Do I like em? Yes I do. Is that the only reason why I watch the show? No.

Posted: 10/7/08 at 7:59pmsorry, WINSTON (tastes good like a cigarette should), i would never mean to completely stereotype a straight guy. God knows they never do that to us 'mos and 'bis.

Posted: 10/7/08 at 8:07pmI actually think a lot of straight women watch The L Word. Ladies like soap operas, and they like shows with a female point of view, and they're less likely to have the kind of hangups that would prevent a straight dude from watching QAF or something.

Posted: 10/7/08 at 8:12pmThere used to be a Barbie show @ EPCOT in which Barbie, Ken, Skipper, etc would sing and dance and take pictures with the guests. During the show, 'Ken' would pick a little girl from the crowd, crown her as a princess, and give her a kiss on the cheek. I knew I was gay when I wondered if BARBIE would give me a kiss instead of Ken. =)

Posted: 10/7/08 at 8:13pmi wonder if there is an L WORD viewership thread on here already...pretty fascinating topic. It has had so much more impact than say, NOAH'S ARC (or THE LAIR, or that WET PALMS/whatever). Is that because it's on "big cable" rather than the "niche channel"? is that what made QAF such a trend?

Posted: 10/7/08 at 8:20pmWhen I first saw "Free Willy" and was fascinated by the boy in the movie. He was older than I was, and I really wanted to meet him and be his "friend." I remember getting the same shoes as he had in the movie, and getting a picture book of the movie (you know those old books in which you would play the tape along with it and it would read to you?) And I would stare at his pictures in the book for hours!

Posted: 10/7/08 at 8:29pmjeez god do i feel old that FREE WILLY was someone's awareness experience, and to hear it called "an old" anything. Bless your heart, kid.

Posted: 10/8/08 at 5:53pmI think there are probably a lot of straight women that watch the L word too. I don't because I don't have showtime, but if I did, I probably would......

Posted: 10/8/08 at 5:57pmWell TX, maybe not my first awareness experience - but definitely the earliest I remember. I was 8 at the time it came out.
