I hate Hate HATE That Commercial!!!

There are some horrible commercials currently running, but everytime the Subway commercial starring Jon Lovitz airs, I find myself screaming at the TV. Who thought that it would be a good idea to hire the least likable actor ever to promote their restaurant? I wouldn't eat at a Subway where Jon Lovitz worked as a cashier, much less take his advice on a TV commerical.

He's talentless, charmless and flat out creepy looking. Was he pan handling outside a Subway and did the first commercials for day old subs?

In a just world, the only way Jon Lovitz could get a job in show biz would be if a circus put him in a cage and charged people a small sum, say fifty cents or a dollar, to poke at him with a stick.

So that's the commercial I hate. How about you?

Any commercial that has that a$$hole Billy Mays...screaming about some wonder product that'll clean anything.

"HI...BILLY MAYS HERE WITH AN INCREDIBLE DEAL ON A PRODUCT YOU CAN"T LIVE WITHOUT. TAKES OUT BLOOD, WINE, KETCHUP, INK, ...."

Shut the hell up! Or at least lower your damn voice!

That ugly American idol winner singing about some truck. Ford, I think, or something like that. I tune out immediately.

But I like Jon Lovitz.

I can't stand the Marshalls commercials with the Wendy Malick voiceovers. Her voice drives me crazy to no end.

Can't stand the Dr. Z commercials for some car manufacturer, but noticed they haven't been running anymore.

The icing on the cake, so to speak, are the Volkswagen commercials where the people get into a car accident. Those commercials are disturbing. I feel bad for anyone who has been in an accident having to witness those particular commercials.

OK-- the McDonalds Mcwakeup commercials. Do they really think it's wise to admit that eating McDonalds first thing in the morning is like getting hit in the face with a baseball? God I hate those ads!

I'm close, Dottie. I mostly only leave it on Nick At Nite or Lifetime now, and I can see most of the shows I watch there on DVD if I really want to. Unfortunately, I'm getting a roommate, and he's going to want cable.

DottieD'Luscia: That's how it was with me. I could barely make my monthly payments, but I only watched a few channels anyway -- and even then, only sporadically. I can't say I don't miss it sometimes, though.

I went years without cable, and more or less signed up for the Food network. I even spoke with my cable provider this morning to inquire about services where you can select the channels you watch. I was told no such thing. I was waiting for Project Runway to finish, so now I have no excuse. I can't stand most of the commercials out there. I get so much more done when the television is off.

Now, back to those commercials we hate: Ah, the new Geico commercials with the cave man.

SM2, I also canceled my cable subscription. It's cheaper to subscribe to both Netflix AND XM Radio than to pay for basic cable every month.

I don't know about anyone else, but those political commercials are absolutely ridiculous. It seems like every five minutes there is one for Senate candidate (and Bush cronie) Michael Steele. He comes off like a big idiot.

Dottie-is that the one where they're at a table in a restaurant and these hideously ugly things that are supposed to be part werewolf lose their appetite? The absolute WORST.

I don't think there's one commercial on that I like.

Jane2, I think they have 3 of those running now, but that's one of them. I don't like any of their commercials, that stupid Gecko, the celebrity endorsements, etc.

I also noticed that the volume of my television increases when the commercials are aired. Talk about manipulation. Another reason I want to cancel my cable.

Dottie, I can't agree with you more. I was in a bad accident a year ago and those commercials really upset me. And what's worse, my friends always think of me when they so those awful things! They make their point, though.

The Jessica Simpson ProActiv commercials annoy me to no end as the volume on them is SO loud.
