Now that we are into holiday season it means we will be subjected to those annoying Lexus commericials. "Yes honey I decided to heck with buying you those $15 slippers you asked for -- I decided instead to trade in your Festiva and buy you a $60,000 Lexus for Christmas!" Has anyone else wondered how the car gets to the house without anyone else knowing? And those red bows are so tacky. Maybe its my middle class socio-economic standing that makes me bitter.

The one commercial that I actually like is for CarMax where the father gets his spoiled brat of a daughter the wrong color car. "I wanted the blue one. Wah!!!!" To me its both perfect and priceless!

I can't stand the ones with the yogurt ladies either. "Dip your head in chocolate good..." Shut up!

Those of you in Massachusestts will know what I'm talking about when I say Mary Lou's Coffee has the WORST ads!

For those in other parts of the country, Mary Lou's is a local coffee shop chain. Their ads feature teenage girls that look like strippers, wearing tight pink Mary Lou's t-shirts and always doing something slightly risque (like having a pillow fight) to shill the coffee - "the best coffee in town..." UGH! The ads are really bad.


I don't think this one is on anymore - but the Burger King ones with the big King head costume guy. Creepy.

I don't know if anyone is from the Bridgeport, CT area, but there used to be this commercial for Yankee Discount Muffler...and at the end they got the most clearly non-English speaking mechanic to say "Yankee Discount Mufflah! We aah the best in tooooown." It was terrible.

I liked the Dunkin' Donuts commercials last summer ("The back of my legs... stickin' to the pleather!" and others of that ilk), but i HATE the new "air quotes" one.

Re: the Burger King Giant Head. That "mask" was originally attached to a helium tank used to blow up balloons at Burger King grand openings back in the 1970's. The helium came out of the King's mouth. Someone from the advertising department at Burger King found it in a warehouse and got the idea of using it in commericals.

I highly doubt there's anyone from central Indiana on here, but the Bob Rohrman Auto Dealer commercials are terribly made.

The fact that Bob Rohrman is not a handsome man also takes away from his ads, too.

ladyofthelake - they run those Bob ROOOOOOOOHRman commercials in Chicago!

My pet peeve is local commercials (usually on radio) that use the owner of the company as spokesperson, and they can't even pronounce the name of THEIR OWN PRODUCT. There was one for a jeweler in which he talked about how they specialized in engagement rings - except he slurred it together into "ENGAGARNGS". Now there is one for a company that recycles ink jet printer cartridges. It starts with the guy saying what sounds like "HI - I'M CARTAJOOLCRISS". Eventually, I figured out he was saying "Cartridge World Chris", even though he continued to slur the word "cartridge" into mud throughout the spot.

I'm not sure which commercials they are, but they usually air on the Food Network and use the same voiceover actress for each one. Her "faux perky" voice to me is like nails on a blackboard. I'm like, "SHUT UP BEYOTCH!!"

BMW commercial with the little boy opening his Christmas gift and screaming and screaming and screaming with extremely loud delight.

Rath, I can say I've never had the pleasure of seeing that one.

Don't remember if I mentioned this one already, but the one with the obnoxious brat in the back seat talking and talking and talking about absolutely nothing and her Dad looking in the rearview mirror smiling. I really don't know what that commercial is all about, but it's for some vehicle.

Now that school is out, I get to watch television during the day, so now I expose myself to the commercials aimed at the elderly, and there is one commercial that never fails to annoy me:

It is for Colonial Penn life insurance, and I guess there is some kind of family reunion going on. It is a four scene commercial too! The first scene is the family standing on some stairs taking a picture. Then the next scene are these guys talking about how much they miss their uncle (or some other male relative), they miss his stories blah blah. So then the next scene these two women are in the dining room getting cake or tea or something and they are talking about how the widowed woman is doing. One of the ladies says that she is doing great because she got one of those "Colonial Penn Life Insurance" plans because it "costs the same to bury a woman as it does a man." And then the usual "Oh but I would never be able to afford it." And then the final scene where they give you the phone number and what not. Its really annoying.
