The worst part is that I really like this coworker and we agree on a lot of things. Of course, this is also the man who said, when I mentioned I was a liberal, "You'll change your mind when you have a family."
How can I like someone when there are times I want to punch him in the gut?
When people say **** like that, it makes me just see RED!!! I'm sorry SG--that's very aggrivating.
I have a solution. Don't talk about politics.
Rinse, and repeat.
SG, I have a sister who just adores Sean Hannity and Tom DeLay. I've never asked her about Ann Coulter...
CK is right. We just don't talk politics. We kid each other at times, but we don't argue. We'll never be able to change each other's minds, and we've accepted that.

Yeah, I believe I've learned my lesson.
Give his name and address to the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Seriously, being a conservative is one thing, but liking or agreeing with a lying, psychotic hate monger is another thing all together. HE NEEDS HELP.

It would be a very boring world if everyone agreed on everything.
All of Ann Coulter's fans should be sent to Iraq to fight--or just to wait for buses.
I disagree with your statement, Gothampc

You probably also disagree with the fact that I like Ann Coulter.
I have found it best just to not discuss politics at work, or even with friends. I am friends with many people on both sides of the political aisle, and I'd lose too many friendships if politics was something discussed often.

As of today, I completely agree with you, adamgreer. Wholeheartedly, in fact.
Being a Republican or a Conservative is one thing. I have many friends who are Christians, Republicans and Conservative. We can stay friends and avoid the pitfalls of certain topics, but "liking" Ann Coulter is something else entirely. It has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with attraction to cruelty, hatred and bigotry, which she admittedly represents, whether in spirit, for greed, or for attention. Whether or not she believes what she says, she endorses it and encourages it in others.
Do something a "non-family" person would do. Like take a dump on his desk.

Sort of like Alan Hevesi saying that Chuck Schumer would be the guy to put a bullet between the eyes of President Bush? And Chuck Schumer not even denoucing that statement?
To a lesser degree, yes. Though neither Hevesi nor Schumer have based their entire careers on such comments nor spout them at every given opportunity. It is reprehensible, nonetheless.

No, but Hevesi and Schumer are political leaders. Ann Coulter is an opinion writer.

LOL..what does one have to do with the other? That might hold water if Mister Matt had said he supported Alan Hevesi or his comments. The truth of the matter is, most people have no idea who Alan Hevesi is. He's no media whore like Ann...and I stress whore.
And Schumer did denounce the statement, don't you pay attention ot the news?

Classic diversionary tactic. When your position is under attack, switch to someone else. Toss that hot potato, Gotham!

So? What he said was reprehensible and irresponsible and it was still a drop in the bucket of immoral slime that is Ann Coulter. And Hevesi's comment was news for what? A day? And how long has Coulter been spewing her hatred? Please.

Maybe you should stick with reading the posts about how much Idina is making or what will Cheyenne be doing next.
Also, Mister Matt, when you have nothing else to say, resort to the ad hominem attack!
Gotham, I'll go as soon as you go. Don't forget to soak your dentures and gum your jello before your nippy-nap.

That is exactly one of the points that Coulter is trying to make. Someone from the left jokes about killing the President and nobody blinks an eye. Someone from the right says something far less inflammatory and it goes on for days.
OH holy crap. Gotham, she hasn't said this just once and immediately issued AN APOLOGY! She says it over and over and over, book after book, press junket after press junket, then whines that it's not forgotten?
She wrote it in her book, for the love of GOD! You cannot retract that now. The two are not the same.
Seriously, did you forget your Geritol today? Did the local health store run out of gingko biloba? I forgot. Health stores are too hippie and new agey for you, eh?
"President and nobody blinks an eye. Someone from the right says something far less inflammatory and it goes on for days."
That would be interesting if it were true. A no name politician made that comment and it was a lead story in the national news for days.
